Superman at SFGAm question???

Was the old coaster dude store open by Superman???

And what souvenirs of the ride did they have and what did you think of them???

The coasterdude is gone. The store is now called "Heroes" and it has merchandise of a bunch of superheroes. What surprised me is that a whole wall was full of Spiderman clothing. Its still set up where you have to exit through the store from S:UF.

Chi-town, So were these old Superman shirts or did they have new items based on the new ride, and if so what did you think of them???

Yeah, I found it odd that an entire section of the store was selling Hulk, Spiderman, and X-Men merchandise. That is kind of the competitor to Superman and Batman stuff isnt it? One of them is DC while the other is Marvel?

Bob O: They had quite a bit of ride specific merchandise. I really like the shirts they have for the ride. I might buy myself one the next time I am at the park.

They had both Bob O. Actual Superman:Ultimate Flight merchandise and the regular Superman logo.

Very nice selection of stuff in there. They even had the HUGE $10 sport cup with the S:UF logo on it.

Yeah I couldn't believe the size of that cup lol. I also really liked some of the shirts for the ride and will probably buy one next weekend.

I think he is talking about the silk button up Spiderman shirts. Those were about 75 bucks. I was really happy with the prices for souvineer shirts for the ride. For a XXL it was only 17.99, anything else adult was 15.99, kids sizes 13.99.

I would have to say it was not any old T-shirt but was a button up shirt with a colar. It looked sweet but I am not paying $75 right now for it. LOL! There were others that were cheaper. And as KickTheSky stated it probably was a silk shirt.

Does that mean that SFGAm now has two superhero stores? I know there was one by Batman before this, is it still all DC or has it diversified into a "coaster" tee-shirt place? It makes sense with V2 near by.

I seem to recall Gotham City Theater diversifying from pure DC stuff some time ago, but I could be wrong.

Marvel mercahndise being sold by Six Flags? Well, they're not Time-Warner anymore, so I suppose I can see it... but it's still really wierd. I guess this mean Universal's not looking to expand into Chicago anytime soon! :)

I hate that Heroes store! It is the worst name for a after ride store ever! It looks so plain and just dull. and i miss the good old days of Coaster dude with the little track around the store. Oh the memories.

Actually, the store by Batman was transformed into an Arcade a few years ago, and is still an arcade this year.

As far as heros goes, I still think they should have put a superman logo on that coasterdude that was up there and repainted the track yellow and red. :)

I was hoping that the quality of t-shirts etc would be good as i like to buy them but unfortunaly havent found much to buy at SF's parks.
I don't think that I have ever even thought about buying a T-Shirt from a park. Not because I don't think that their stylish or anything but that I would rather spend my money on oh, a souvineer(sp?) cup... ;)

I always hate park tee-shirts that dont advertise the fact that they are roller coaster t-shirts and what type of coaster it is (like only have the logo which has no track on it, or is one of those "list coaster" shirts that only have coaster logos on them) SF has seems to like doing this more then any other chain. However, Im so whipped that I buy even those T-shirts when forced to because I gotta have a shirt from every park I visit. :)

I also like to buy a shirt from every park i visit but have had trouble at SF parks in finding something i like and find that they rarley change their designs. Ive been surprised they dont do things like CP or BGW where they will have shirts that feature several coasters like Fear the Four with four coasters as an example. Or have a shirt with an outline of the park with major rides featured like i have seen at IOA/USF or BGW. Their is good money to be made by changing designs and putting out good products.
