Superman at Australia's WBMW

I didn't really want to post this as news, because there are only three pictures, but the Intamin rocket down there is starting to go up, starting with the launch track:

Still no word on a layout though, darn.
Word is camelbacks and overbanks for elements, and a unique "earthquake" element (a rumbling section of track) for the pre-launch segment.

It's just great that Australia is finally getting a good coaster. Looking at this I think it's been worth the wait.

Looks like the camelback wont be that tall if the station dosnt go far back into that hangar/storage building.

Colin - there is a "dark ride" portion prior to the launch...the station is not right before the launch.
The launch actually does go right back into that building (best name for it would be a sound stage) - only around 1/3 of it is outdoors. It starts at ground level or so and travels up at that angle.

The tophat will be 40m (131ft).

Oh, never knew. Thanks.

After the top hat it is a similiar layout to Millenium force with the two camelbacks right next to each other and an overbanked turn to get to each camelback.
There's more construction images up at Roller-Coaster.com.au: http://www.roller-coaster.com.au/gallery.php?gid=168

The tophat is coming together, and the layout is starting to show, with a wide ground-hugging turn right after the tophat.
