Super Sandbox Question

What do you do after you download it, so that you can play it without any problems.

Do you gt all the rides, shops and theming type objects in the game or just most of them.

This is one of the downloads at the coasterbuzz games site.

Well, even without having the game, its been firmly established that there is an imposed limit of 128 items available at any one time. (2^7 items). What I haven't heard anyone say yet is "Ouf of X", as in you can select 128 of ??? items. Therefore no existing sandbox can contain 'everything'and if the game engine can only handle 2^7 available objects, I doubt we ever will.

That being said, I have also heard that rides, shops, grab joints, park services and theming elements come out of the same 128-item pool. I'm sure you can find a few items (like the Fried Rice Noodle stand) that you can live without.

Also it has been stated that you can have unlimited money at the price of having the "Under 700 Rating Sudden Death",or you can have $10,000 and a loan. I have heard conflicting reports on how high you can make that loan. I have also heard you set the finance terms, I wonder if you can offer yourself 0.0% financing.

As far as 'problems' are concerned, we are no longer having to use a hacked game and trainers, so I would assume that since everything is legit, that we should see more stable system performance for creating fantasy mega lands.

5% financing is low as the interest rate goes and you can have as high as a 40,000 dollar loan.

I am remembering quickly that I have a harder time of it when I run a pay once operation versus the Kennywood style pay per ride way.

You can modify any "Scenario" in the "Scenario Editor". When you go into the editor, click on the diskette and choose load and browse out to the "Scenario" folder. You can open ANY scenario and modify it to your liking. I've modified the "Super Sandbox" and set it to 10,000 cash-on-hand, 10,000 loan and a $50,000 loan maximum. You can no longer charge to enter the park AND rides at the same time. You have to choose one method or the other. I agree with Feel the strike, it is MUCH easier to maintain a profit using the pay-per-ride method. The Scenario editor calls the files "Area" or "layout" files or something like that before you actually go to the "Create a scenario" step and you can save them. However, these Area or Layout files are exactly the same as Scenario files.

5% Interest is as low as you can go. I made a sandbox with a $2 million dollar loan limit. It went above $2 Mil, but you have to hold the button down, and cannot just type the ammount in. Someday I will tape the mouse button down and walk away, but it will go past $2 Mil. Starting is capped at $10K, but as soon as you start, borrow away!

You can make the land grid as big as 256x256 which is HUGE!!!! Trust me when I tell ya, you will NEVER run out of room! I also made a scenario with a North and South entrance with South being the main gate. I put three enterances there side-by-side to pack in the peeps.

One interesting observation. Ifg you loose the scenario you are playing, your park closes, and you can not re-open it!

Also, there is now a double sky ride (space needle) ala Cedar Point.

Please say that isn't the case when using the scenario editor to create a park.

Is there any way to create a park with an objective similar to RCT1's megapark? where the main objective is to simply have fun?

I don't think so, but you can rig it so that it is essentially the same as Mega Park. You can put the goal on "Build 10 roller coasters with X excitement rating and Y feet long" and set the maximum loan as high as it will go. Works for me.

Can't you just tick 'No Money' when you make a scenario and then set the objective as '10 Roller Coasters with an Excitement Rating of 6.00'. There is no time limit and no problem with the park being shut down if the rating goes below 700 and you can have unlimited money. Only problem is that you can't close the park, but to stop peeps coming in, you just delete the first bit of pathway.

If you can load any scenario into the editor to change it's objectives then you should be able to at least change the SFGRADV & SFOT objectives to something other than the "sudden death 700 or else" park rating to something more reasonable like a rating of 600 & a minimum guest quota.

If you can do it with any scenario then maybe I can load my SF:WOF park into the editor & get some more cash because I'm maxed out on my loan & have little to no cash left to build anything,in case everyone is wondering about SF:WOF it's an acronym for Six flags worlds of fun.

you could create an extremely easy objective such as 100 guests after one year, and then once you finish, you can do whatever you like.

You could also create the scenario, play it until you have 100 guests, then re save it as a scenario, and you barely have to worry about a thing (just park rating for a year) Then, set the loan to 2 million, thats almost unlimited money.

Another thing, scerey items are not include in the 128 items, but there must be close to 200 items to choose from.

It's nice to have an oportunity to be able to have a $2 million dollar loan. However, if you borrow too much you may run into problems. Ex: Not making enough money as it is and your paying interest that's keeping you in debt, which you borrow more money and go into even more debt.

I have a question for everybody. Has there been any trainers created for RCT2 yet? If so, where are the sites?

The lowest you can go on a guest quota scenario is 500 guest & a rating of at least 600.

Believe me I tried to set it to a lower figure than that & it just won't go any lower, anyway trying to get 500 peeps in the park is a heck of a lot easier than trying to get say 3,500 peeps any day.

Actually there sort of is a way to beat the sudden death 700 of higher thing. All you have to do is once your park does get closed down either continue building what you want or save the game. Then go to the game tools option and re-open it a a senario, whatever you left off as is now re-open.
