Super Bowl: No one is going to Disney World

Disney has announced that after 19 years, it will not be running the "I'm going to Disney World" promotion where a star player of the Super Bowl declares his trip following the game.

Boy that quote scares me. As a Patriots fan who lives less than a half and hour from Foxboro Stadium ya sure I'm putting my money on the Patriots ( well not literally), but the Eagles are to the Patriots just what the patriots were to the Rams!

Even I would not be surprised if the Eagles win!

The NFC may not be strong but neither was the Eastern Conference in basketball last year.

Here's an interesting twist on a "conspiracy" theory a friend of mine came up with:
2001- WTC is attacked, America sends troops to Afghanistan. Patriots win Super Bowl following the season, helped in great part by a questionable call of a fumble as an incompletion
2002- No major crisis facing America. Patriots fail to make playoffs.
2003- America invades Iraq, beginning a controversial war. Patriots win Super Bowl following that season.
2004- Is there a crisis or not?

So apparently if America needs to be super-patriotic, New England wins the Super Bowl. If not, the Eagles will win. Also, it's interesting that the official licensed NFL gear, including Eagles Conference Championship hats, is in red, white and blue. The colors are chosen by the league ahead of time, and the emblem of the winning teams are simply added immediately after the conference championship games are over. Think the league is picking favorites?

Nah, it's this simple. Super Bowl is on Fox. Disney owns ABC. Never the twain shall meet. Now if if the Super Bowl was broadcast on ABC I betcha they'd be going. Besides Disneyworld blew the marketing budget on giving out all those tickets at the Orange Bowl.

So marketing is now about a corporate ego? Why can't anyone just take it at face value and go with the spokesperson's comment that it doesn't mesh with their current marketing campaign?
Because conspiracy theories are more fun?
Sounds stupid to me, another tradition screwed over by marketing and corporate sponsorship.

There isn't a conspiracy theory, The Patriots are just an all-around good team, if you can't face that and have to make up conspiracy theories then that's sad.

Oh yea here is a twist. Every Summer I have been to CP the Patriots win the super bowl the following Winter. I did not go to the point this past summer.

The Patriots have also won every super bowl in the month of February.

Instead of Disneyworld/Disneyland, they just as easily could have chosen their own neighborhood theme park. Hehehe...it would be interesting if Donovan McNabb or Terrell Owens said "I'm going to Dorney Park!" or Tom Brady said "I'm going to Six Flags New England!" :)

Q: "You just lost the Super Bowl. What's next?"

A: "I'm going to Six Flags!"

I should have guessed it when on my Madden 05 game after wining the Super Bowl on it. The Newspaper said that my Headcoach will be heading home instaed of the Traditional Theme Park visit.

I wonder if that started there.

I also wonder if Disney has anything cooking up for the Daytona 500 (which Disney is already a big sponser of already). I could see it now: Announcer: Jeff Gordon (I think he has a good chance of winning this year over Dale Jr.) you just won the Daytona 500 What are you gonna do now?

Jeff (or maybe another drive like Dale Jr., Michael Waltrip, Rusty Wallace, or some other driver): I'm going to Disney World.
