Super Bowl MVP gets his day at Magic Mountain

Tampa Bay Bucs free safety Dexter Jackson, snubbed by Disney after winning the MVP award at Super Bowl XXXVII three weeks ago, was an honored guest at Six Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park in Los Angeles last weekend. Despite being named MVP, Disney instead chose the Bucs quarterback for the classic "I'm going to Disney World" TV spot following the game.

This is a great example of experienced park management making a great situation out of nothing. SF scored a big win here, and that PR manager and her staff should get personal satisfaction from Gary Story. A great theme park just got one step better.

That's phat. Glad to see things working out like that. :)

"Sunshine, daisies, butter-mellow! Turn this stupid fat rat yellow!"

Can you imagine if the Raiders had won?

"Rich Gannon, you've just won the Super Bowl, what are you gonna do next?"

"I'm heading back to Oakland to watch the fans trash the city by setting cars on fire, then I'm going to Disneyland!" ;)

Good to see that SFMM at least had the moxy to host the MVP. Good for them.

Umm, dude, what does your comment have to do with anything?

1) No park has *more*, therefore they have th *most*

2) Nobody was even making that argument anyway. Your partisanship is disgusting

Heh heh. You crack me up! ANYWAY.... Sounds like Disney dropped the ball. They should have made a commercial with both of them saying "We're gonna take the bullet train to Disneyworld!!" ;)

Personally, I'm still waiting for BGT to invite *Sapp and Co.* back home for a few spins on Kumba and Montu (now featuring NO gators). Gwazi is running like CRAZY, no better time for the park to do some publicity work....

I wouldn't have voted Brad Johnson as MVP of the Super Bowl either, but after seeing Rob Johnson and Shawn King running the offense (into the ground, that is), Brad Johnson does deserve *mad props* for getting the Bucs offense up to a level where the defense COULD carry them to the Lombardi Trophy....w00t!

oh, and janfrederick, we don't need no stinking bullet-train, we got the A-train, baby!

How is Gwazi 'running like crazy'? Last I heard it wasn't even dueling. Has that changed?

This is hilarious...way to go SFMM. I've never been a big Disney fan, anyway. Magic Kingdom is pretty overrated, in my opinion.

Take a ride...

Disney parks are cool and all but I think they are all overrated. Except California Adventure which is underrated. And the only way I would honestly go to a Disney park, is if I had my female with me.

They call me Sir Lancelot, the "Prince of Camelot".

Well, no chance of that anytime soon.

Just another example of Defense and Defensive players not getting the credit and respect they deserve. If it hadn't been for Tampa Bay's D, it would have been Rich Gannon in that spot.

Vater....well, apparently SOME things have changed around BGT way...perhaps they've been reading my rants, LOL. They dueled Gwazi nearly all day last time we were there (Sunday before last), and only stopped dueling for some inexplicable reason near the end of the day. When I asked why they stopped, I guess I asked the wrong person...;) "Dueling? I think we'll do that if you request it, if it's real slow upstairs". When I informed the *height-checker* that they were in fact dueling it all day, she was impressed...and surprised.

But beyond the dueling (which can NOT be over-rated), Tiger, and esp. Lion had NEVER given me rides like that before. When Gwazi was brand new, it was a great ride but just a touch *stiff*, as new coasters often are. Now, it is RIPPING through the course SO well and SO fast, I'm almost regretting heading to IoA this weekend......almost...;)

Back to the topic (football), defense won't ever get the recognition it deserves....but my guys stil have that cool trophy...:)

What happened to the quote button?

Anyways, I don't know why people talk smack about Oakland all the time. When it comes to sports riots, that was a miniature riot, not even in the top 25 of all time. Why don't you Ohioans comment on that Ohio State riot?! How about the riots in LA the past three years after each Lakers championship? Shoot, even Vancouver had huge riots when the Canucks lost.

Besides, the Oakland riots occurred in the hood itself, not in the downtown area like in most cities. That would cause a lot more damage.

I've been a Buccaneers fan for 10 long-waiting years, and the fact that Disney is so ignorant probably will make me decide I will not be going to Disney Parks ever again.

...Yea...i was a long 4 year wait after Shaun King took us to the 1999 NFC Championship game and only lost by a few points, but Shaun was rusty cause the new coach didn't want an extreme amount of change that Tony Dungy began. I give alot of the credit to Tony Dungy, and when he's out of coaching, I would hire him as a GM in a second.

About the OSU Bucs....I went to OSU for one year, and that place is a learning disaster, as well as being giving an F for affordability. It's an overcrowded mess, and the fact that it has the championship from my area's ex-coach, who never talks about the good side of NE Ohio (and I lost respect for him for that), Coach Tressel and OSU won't see any of my money ever again *** This post was edited by midwave 2/16/2003 10:55:39 AM ***
