Summer trip advice. What should I do?

Hi Peeps, Just wanting some suggestion as to what trip I should take. I live near Detroit and was wondering which path to take. I will most likely only take one road trip. Maybe a quicky one day to CP later in the season. Any suggestion will be welcomed. Help me to decide.

Option one: Great America/ Michigan Adventure: Haven't rode Superman, Dejvu was closed last time I was there (haven't rode) and this year the new spinning mouse never rode one before. 5 and half hours to get to SF.

Option Two: Cedar Point/ Geauga Lake: Would like to see for myself what CF has done with Geauga. Been to both parks many of times. 4 and half to GA.

Option Three: Canada's Wonderland/ Six Flags Darian Lake: Lot's of driving on this trip: haven't been to CW in over 10 years Great flats and new flyer. Never been to SFDL: heard bad things about the park on this site but would love to ride Superman. Is it worth the drive?

Option four: to say to H*ll with it all. and drive 12 hours to Six Flags Great Adventure. any suggestion as to other park worth driving to on the way?

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

Why only visit the big theme parks? Why not Holiday World, Indiana Beach, Kennywood, Waldameer, and other parks like that within a 6-8 hour drive?
You have a point. Didn't consider them. But my time is limited and I like to get the most in that I can. It would be fun to mix it up between big and small park. Good suggestion.
Drive down to HW, then up to IB, and then to MiA.
Why depend on our advice? Go where you want to go the most! You're going to have a good time no matter which one you pick.

I would go with Canada's Wonderland or Cedar Point and Geauga Lake. CW is just an awsome park with alot to offer. Also, if u went to CP and GL you could always stop by PKI too.

P.S.- If you choose to go to Six Flags Great Adventure, then make sure to check out HersheyPark and Storm Runner.

From Detriot: CP, Wyandotte Lake, PKI, SFKK, Holiday World, Indiana Beach, MiA, home.
I'll pipe in only on Option 3:

IF you are doing Canada's Wonderland and Darien Lake, why not hit ALL of the parks in Western NY, southern Ontario?

Martin's Fantasy Island (Grand Island, NY): Worth the stop for Silver Comet alone

SeaBreeze (Rochester, NY): good old JackRabbit... nice little park.

Marineland Theme Park (Niagara Falls, ONT): Dragon Mountain.

All are with in an easy drive from the Darien Lake area. Marineland and Martin's are easily do-able on the same day (you can see Marienland's tower along with the rest of the Niagara Falls skyline from the top of Silver Comet's lift hill at Martin's).

If you don't mind paying the admission for one coaster each, each are worth a stop in my opinion.

"Yes... well... VICTORY IS MINE!"
Cedar "Counter" Point...

Since I did your "Option 2" last summer (and had a blast might I add), I'm doing your "Option 1" this summer...actually in about 3 more weeks! SFGAm is a park I've always wanted to check out. While I'm that far north of the mason dixon line, I'm going to hit up Mt. Olympus (2 hour drive from SFGAm), and then swing over to MiA and down to Indiana Beach on the way home. You might be able to work in Indiana Beach as well. Since you may be able to go to CP later in the season, I'd just go with your "Option 1"...oh wait I already am!

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
Personally, if I lived near Detroit, CP wouldnt even be an optoin for this, it would be my home park and not included in summer trips. I had to drive out to Detroit 4 times for work last summer (I live in Chicago). I believe I made it to CP at least once on each of the 4 drives.
I personally wasn't blown away by your option 1 last summer. That trip has about 5 really good rides, but nothing absolutely incedible. Yet again that is in my opnion. I think it is a MUCH better idea to focus more on quality than quanity on summer trips, in other words if you havn't been to IB or HW you should definately go. 3 of the countries best woodies in Indiana.
Thanks everone for your advice. I'm thinking of doing the HW IB thing. and after reading your comments I may just take two summer trips. Mamosh you advice was a little intense at first but I'm really condidering it. Thanks again
