Suggestions for the Dells?

Isca -- I would think that anyone who rides a coaster 30 times with their arms in the air will have bruises....no matter how smooth a ride it is. ;-)

Surely, it's not as bad as SOB?

WildThingNative - Paul Bunyan's is one place my friend wants to go to. I'm skeptical, but if you say it's good, I'll believe ya! ;-)

I'd rather be riding Roller Coasters....or baking.

Ride Hercules too at Mount Olympus. I liked that one. It was decent.

Hercules? Don't remember that one! Guessing you meant either Hades, Zeus, or Cyclops.

The scarey thing is, I actually knew what he meant. I knew that he meant Hades and not Hercules.

I agree with Isca, insofar as Avalanche was pretty darn rough when I was there three weeks ago. My trip report from the Dells is online, but it doesn't say much about Timber Falls to be fair.

My gut instinct is that no work has been done on it since installation -- if it has, it has been haphazard at best.

The trick to surviving many rides on Avalanche is sitting in the left seat and let your hips absorb the latterals. On the right your ribs will take the beating despite PTC supposed great padding, it don't protect you from the non flanged sidewall top that has a metal band on it.

Some work was done on Avalanche last spring before Timber Falls opened for the 2005 seaosn. It was in greta condition last September. Sure it had those square turns, but that's part of the fun! Is that the brutality you're talking about? :)
