S:UF on CBS - Channel 2 - Chicago soon

The 11am news on Channel 2 - Chicago will have some on-ride photo from media day today. I just saw a preview for it around 11:08am
EVERY major news outlet in the Chicagoland area will have "spots" from Gurnee today....Fox News in the Morning (ch. 32) had a spot just before 9 this AM. And (while I do not know him other than from seeing him post on this site), there was a lot of face time for Sean F. Actually, he came in after Wintrode (park GM) and was on camera for quite a bit longer.

Ride looks great....landscaping has a ways to go.....but that's secondary, obviously. They had some nice on ride footage on that spot this morning.

WGN just had their morning weather guy riding it on their news at noon, and they had the helicopter there shooting footage from above. The coaster looks great, and I can't wait to ride it.
I watched the WGN and FOX footage of S:UF and on both stations they talked to a coaster enthusiast by the name of Sean Flaharty or something like that.

Ah media days. I was able to get a ticket to V2's media day through a family connection at the Tribune but this year I had no such luck. But i can't wait till tonights news when they have actual footage of our S:UF.

OMG! I just saw the new comercial for SFGAm (more for S:UF but whatever). It wasnt the one for season passes. It was new and had footage of S:UF obviously from SFOG. Very cool! Definitely worth waiting 8 months.
The ride is as much fun to ride as it looks

Not to be a skeptic, but after watching a video of GAdv's Superman crawling through the course (especially the Pretzel Loop) I can't imagine this ride being as forceful as some say. I hope I'll be proved wrong this Sunday.

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

I promise you, you feel the pretzel loop. The rest is the ride is not forceful, just fun. But I dare you to sit in the last row and tell me that the ride is not forceful. Also, the front row provides great airtime going into the preztel loop. As some people have previously noted, there are holes in the track spine just before the preztel loop. Some have speculated that these might be for trim brakes. As of today they are not installed and there are great Gs in the preztel loop. In my opinion, if they add them, the ride will be ruined. So that should be an incentive to ride quickly - before the brakes kill it. For an example, look at the third hill on Raging Bull.

jpb- Were the seats big on S:UF? Because I heard the ones at SFoG were pretty small.

While I don't know what the SFOG seats were like, these seemed pretty roomy. The inside foam section that holds you in seemed to be able to expand pretty far. All I know is - these seats were incredibly comfortable. Although, after the 15th ride in a row, your shins get a little sore.

Ouch!

Nancy Loo (FOX news Chicago) had a great time this morning on S:UF. They had Sean Flaharty talking through the onride video. Nancy Loo said there was a lot (a LOT) of room because she is petite. But, she is Asian.

4 days...

Actually, if she is who I think she is - it was pretty funny because they had to measure her. She just barely made it and she was wearing high heels.

Edit - Just saw a promo during 24 and it is her. I thought it was funny that they sent someone to try the new ride who was only tall enough to ride with high heels on.

yeah abc7 news (10pm) just reported that (to quote): "we have been told this is the first pretzel-shaped roller coaster in the world."

as much as i'd like to claim such a feat, sadly it isn't true. oh well, typical media :)

"It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone"

Sad to say but all the segments were to short to be good, but cbs and fox did a pretty good job , such as cbs showing a on ride video of going through the pretzel loop and fox showing the ride's switch from sitting to flying before leaving the station
