Here's What I've heard guys:
Originally, Superman: Ultimate Escape
was going to be called V2 (Vertical Velocity). This decision was made early on. Six Flags gave the color scheme to the artist who created the rendering, and also to Citigraph, the company that made the park map.
This is where it gets interesting: X-Flight (which BTW for the uninformed, was built and openend this year) was to be themed to Superman. However, the park dedcided at the last minute that they wanted to go to the public with two superhero themed rides. In addition, they weren't sure if Stealth would work.
Basically, They went ahead and made the Impulse S:UE, and just hoped that Stealth would work and not be a disaster. This explains why there is so little themimg on S:UE, they couldn't get the architecture changed on the ride so last minute. If they had known ahead of time, they would have been able to make the station/platform more like the ice cave on Superman: The Escape at SFMM.
Plus, they would have three coasters with a yellow track (Batman, Double Loop, and V2), which they didn't want.
So, from what I've heard, it was going to be called V2, but because of all the stuff I mentioned earlier, it was changed to S:UE. I could be wrong, but it makes sense doesn't it?
