Submarine ride at Disneyland?

I know they closed the submarine ride(which i loved), but i was just thinkin. What did they put in it's place? I would like to know. Last time i was there (summer 2000) the water was gone and subs and theming was just sitting there. What are they planning to do with it?

Nothing is in the lagoon as of now. they were suppose to put in an Atlantis themed ride. As for RR's trac, no idea.

racerbret 20,000 leagues under the Sea was what was taken out. they were planning on a Atlantis theme but that is not happening considering the movie did poorly at the boxoffice compared to other disney animated movies.

I don't think the popularity should matter. The theme would be perfect for this ride. It would be fairly cheap too. I would prefer it to "The Little Mermaid".

Yeeee Haaawwww!
i heard that Disney was considering the Atlantis theme for the sub ride and for the people mover they have been tossing aroung a couple ideas.

1. A cyclce railway-guests would have to peddle to their vehicles themselves.

2. an indoor out door version of Buzzlight years light blaster ride

I think you have it mistaken with the magic kingdom (which I think had something like that) because i've lived here my whole life (im14) and we have never had 20,000 leagues under the sea unless it was there before I was born.  The sub ride was just a sub ride with mermaids, underwater dragons, fish, etc.  Not once did the theaming ever have to do with 20,000 leagues.  Anyways I heard this from my girlfreind whos brother works @ disneyland so I don't know if its completely true (but he was right about TOT @ DCA).  I was told it is supposed to take place in some sort of bubble vehicle that goes a round and at a point floods up to your feet.

While possibly downplayed in later years, the original theme of the Disneyland submarine ride was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  All you have to do to know this is take one look at the submarines which are styled to match the sub in the Disney movie
flooding to ur feet sounds scarry and fun!

Whoa, i would definately ride it if that ahppened
Magic Kingdom (WDW) -20,000 leagues under the sea (removed 1994)

Magic Kingdom (Disneyland) -Submarine Voyage (removed 1998)

Tokyo DisneySea- 20,00 Leagues under the sea (no water just suspended cars)(themed to be underwater)(added 2001)

Just to clearify the confusion
