Stupid Peeps = 0 Park Rating

I know this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find it...

Playing RCT2, tackling Infernal Views at a leisurely pace. Sometime around year 7 and 8, suddenly guests are lost and "can't find the park exit" or "want to go home," and my park rating drops to 0. Popularity of certain rides seemed to drop suddenly as well. Thing is, during this time I didn't build any new paths; just spending time building a monster new coaster, and reorganizing handymen, mechanics and security guards.

Any ideas what may have caused this or a way to fix it? I tried putting in a Monorail and a couple more Information Kiosks, but that didn't work.

I've never seen this before, and rarely do I ever get lost guests when I play (and if I do, I can fix it quickly). What gives?

Try picking up the people one by one and placing them in the pond.

Down is the new up.
I put no-entry signs at coaster exit paths, which usually helps. Usually, many of these people are concentrated in one area of the park, so find that are, and block off all paths to ride exits in the area, or simplify the paths there. Wide paths are fine in RCT2, just so long they are simple, and don't snake around. I have gone 7 or 9 across (Not sure if I have done 9 yet) for my main midway in parks, with no problems. Then help people to the exits by dropping them there. This should hopefully raise your park rating.

Let me know if this works,

Sam

True, but won't other guests just keep getting lost? Plus, that's a lot of peeps! I'm just trying to figure out how this happened so suddenly, without any new path construction to prompt it.
I had a similar thing happen and I built a huge aerial path and it fixed it. No gaurantees though.

The game itself is programmed to have guests get dissatisfied after x number of years. Means you took too long to achieve your objective, and other than the "no entry" trick, from what I can tell.... you're just out of luck!

"You had a rollback? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

I've been playing RCT2 for a long time now, ever since before it officially came out (Thanks to retailers selling it before they were supposed to). I'd be happy to send you a park of mine if you would like to see how I avoid the problem. I am not yet a member of the club though, otherwise I could just post a park, so people can see my trick, and see how I can get away with ultra-wide paths. It is pretty simple, but it does require those no entry signs, and some investigation skills if that alone doesn't work.

If it is not a WW/TT park, feel free to send it to me, and I can take a look at what the problem is, and maybe try to give you tips.

Peeps try to take the shortest route to the exit. If you find where they are stuck, try to make an extra path that allows them to go straight to the exit, and they will leave. Also, if there are a lot of shops/intersections where they are stuck, you may need to delete some of them.

The reaction was delayed because it takes a while for the peeps to get really upset. They probably accumulated in the stuck areas over the years, but didn't start complaining until now. RealCP's comment is wrong, a well layed-out and maintained park will keep peeps happy indefinately.

If you still can't figure it out, look up "fossil path tutorial" or something like that on google. There is a guy named fossil who explains how the peeps get lost, but I forget the actual address.

Fossil's Pathing system description can be found at http://www.ultimaterct.net/fossil/PathingSystems.html
I had the same problem with Ivory Towers, so I added new path and the park rating went from 720 immediately to 999. Try adding extra path where the peeps are bundled up.
