Stricker's Grove To Be Open This Sunday

FYI:

This coming Sunday, August 8th, is the second Sunday in August. Stricker's Grove will be open to the public. Definetly check it out if you're in the area.

On another note, the VERY large and fun Ohio State Fair starts also, which is a must.

Even better news is that it's not suppose to rain this weekend in Ohio ;)

Wish I could be there. Maybe next year!
2 Wuestions.....1. How much to get in, and 2. is the park worth what it costs?

Wanna go for a Ride?
Aurora University Golf

If it is anything like last year the cost will be $8 for unlimited rides, free parking, and free drinks. Food is cheap as well.

It is certainly worth the price! Tornado is really good little ride, smooth, fun and with a couple of surprise moments. They have a small but interesting collection of flat rides including a rare crazy dazy, tip top, flying scooter, and an antique carousel.

The place usually opens in the early afternoon. The rides will run for a few hours then they shut everything down for an hour to force people to play games and eat, then they open the rides up again and run them until 9pm or so. kinda weird.

Rides will be open fom 2-5pm & from 6 to 9.

They will also be open to the public on saturday october 2nd, admission is again $ 8
POP. The times are changed for that day. They will be 1-4 & 5-8pm.

That is the same day as the ACE PKI thing (October 2nd). I am sure Stricker's will get plenty of visits from the crowd.

Uh oh, maybe I should rethink my visit. ;)
I went there this past 4th of July. It is a pretty fun park...small....but fun.

The Tornado is a pretty sweet ride. The best reason to go IMO. Also had one of the best Cheeseburgers I ever had at a park before!

You can check out my pics from the 4th that feature every ride they have there except for the train. The train was not running that day.

If you go, I will be the dude with the Cincinnati Reds jersey on riding Tornado over and over again! Say hello!

Oh by the way, I just had to throw in this pic of a DOG riding the Tornado that I found on the web! I am sure most of you have seen this pic....just makes me laugh everytime I see it!

Anybody going, I'd love to hear a TR about your trip. Its the rare/smaller parks that I like to read about most, and this would be a treat.
If I remember correctly, the dog's name is Timber Wolfie. That was during the ACE Spring Con whatever year that was. I have a similar photo in my own collection, although due to a camera malfunction it had to be push-processed a full stop, so my photo isn't great...

Train wasn't running on July 4 eh? It wasn't running yesterday either :(

I'm happy to report a complete remodel of the bathrooms. Beautifully done tilework and brand new waterless urinals!

There's also a new games building.

I was taking some outside of the park pictures of the Tornado and I took a good look at the train tracks and from what I can tell, it looks like that train has not run for awhile! There are some serious bends in the track and some major weeds growing up thru them!
