Stricker's Grove Corn, Corn and coasters

Associated parks:
None

Me and FoF were again out and about. This time to the middle of nowhere or Strickers Grove. Fun little private park thats open to the public 2 days a year. I was to meet FOF at northgate mall. I was early so I walked around. I ate some Arbys and played around in spencers.

Northgate mall 1/10 :-)

I met him outside dillards and put the cooler with all 3 flavors of coke in his bed. 1st critical mistake, forgetting Bungies or rope.

Once we arrive we paied 3 for parking (not bad) And went in. The free admission was nice. We got the all day ride pass. we were early so we played games. Finally the gates opened and we went to the tornado.

Tornado is just for coaster count, It sucked very badly and there is a quite painfull element on it. I did not like it at all. in all 2/10

We hit the teddy bear. Suprisingly enough the trains were more comfortable and had more room than the Tornado. It was worth a reride In all 5/10.

We hit the flat rides next. 1st up was the ferris wheel Nice ferris wheel. 2/10

Next up is a ride I have never seen beforeI have no clue what it is but it has two circles and your cars switch between the two. 6/10 fun. Pop break too the cooler! Then we hit the tip top. Fun ride FOF wouldnt let me spin it :-( Still fun 4/10

Then we did the train. Nice train but somthing was outta place the Honda accord (I think) parked about 3 inches too close to the track Barily missed it. Then I looked up and there was a gaint wang yes a six foot wang complete with 2 foot testicals was drawn on the top of the car. I almost fell out of my seat. Later in the day we learned that the car did indeed get hit! More pop wasted money on games more pop

. We met up with a few other buzzers and tried to put on an air show. Try as we might It wasnt gonna happen. Its somthing with he 8 tub model. We all did the tornado again. I had a better time waiting in line talking then I did on the ride. I have never seen more duct tape used at a park than in all my life. We watched the fireworks and left. I saw better fireworks on the way home.

It wasnt bad but not great. thats what 12.00 gets ya. Now I see why PKI is 42 you get so much. Even 20 at lesordsville was better than this.

84 coasters in Track Record!! Hypersonic XLC # 100 in July. Waiting for the 305 foot drop tower in 2003. Thank you PKD.

Yes, he is right. Two days a year, the rest of the year is exclusively for private parties. Unfortunately I missed this one, it's been years since I've been to Strickers and I only live 25 mins away! I completely forgot about it :-(. Oh well, maybe I'll get out there on family day. Good TR though.

Never been and I ain't that far away whats the other day its open?

Actually I like tornado a lot. Larger people and buzzbars isn't actually a great combination but the ride is good. The seats were harder and seemed less roomy than last year but I like tornado a bunch and in the back counted at least 5 spots of airtime with two of them being ejector.

That ride you talked about is a Cuddle up. We rode that about 6 times straight once.

The flyers are snappable and we were trimming trees but it's not easy to do. Perhaps thats why I like em.

I couldn't believe how much fun I was having last night at Strickers. Meeting you and FOF was also a great part of the day :)

Chuck, who worked at strickers in 1980 and although they have added some rides and two woodies couldn't believe you could have that much fun there.

P.S. It was extremely hot too. That got to a bunch of people.

How do you get that the flyers were not snappable?

Chuck, Jack, Chris Clark and I all had a few decent pops out of them. and yes, I hit that tree a few times but Charles left a branch on the ground. They were getting going later on in the day.

I LOVED Tornado, but for some reason the Teddy Bear really caught my attention. maybe it's cause it's bright blue, and it has a really cute name (and operator :-))

Overall, I rode each coaster about 9 or 10 times, took on ride video of both, AND rode the kiddy whip :-D

I Love Stricker's Grove.

Teenage Ninja: Stickers will be open to the public again on August 11th, Parking is Free, Admission is $8 per person, and Rides, and Soft Drinks are included. Hours are from 2 P.M. till 9:00 with a one hour break from 5-6.
I used to love the Tornado, but last year they replaced the seats with that Urethane foam crap so I didn't even bother with the park for Independence day this year. I'll be down in August, but they really did Tornado dirty. :(

I was just a little peeved at certain things. I did have a good time and my rating doesnt mean much cause they dont have a big thrill ride. In all I had a great time there was a few things like walking off tornado in pain. FOF hyped the corn to me. It was really good I will admit. I didn't expect PKI or Lesourdsville I enjoyed myself. If tornado didnt have dividers I wouldof been fine but those seat dividers killed my legs. Plus I was peeved about the flyers cause I couldnt get much more than my tub slamming the ground. It was fun meeting everybody. I saw all if you all at PKI before but never got to talk, since I was workin and all

Josh, that is hilarious! Get any video of the operator? I am definetly going to try and go out there on the 11th. I hate that I forgot about it. I could have come, I had nothing important to do.
