Streakin' at the Lake!

Associated parks:
None

Conneaut Lake Park: May 27

The park was crowded, they were actually lines for everything and the lot had cars before it opened. Things are looking up. I got my season pass and hooked up with some rides:

Tumble Bug: good :)

Flyers: good (finally snapped them and awoke the operator) :)

Devil's Den: good :)

Ferris Wheel: good :)

Rollo-Plane: excellent :)

Music Express: good :)

Toboggan: closed :(

Blue Streak: :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Wished they used the beautiful PTC train sitting in the transfer tunnel. Waits were up to two trains. Whiplash turn still catches me by suprise. I see a trim on the turn. Is that manually operated? I asked why they don't use the second train (the PTC). They said that state law requires locking lapbars as opposed to just grab bars. I guess the law needs a trip to Kennywood ;)Seriously, they could just add belts to the trains and be all set unless thre is a structual problem with the train. They also said it was the original train the Blue Streak opened with. Too bad they don't use it, it looked comfortable :)

Had a great day and plan to return very soon :)

Thought it was an Edward Vettle creation. Could be wrong though.

I think it is Edward Vettle as well. I can't believe Conneaut was actually busy - that is great.
It WAS Edward Vettle. Just a little information.

Jess, that is truly bad news. It really is a shame that parks have removed this fun game. I never played at Conneaut... but I always saw people in there enjoying themselves on the days I visited. I believe the stand-alone Fascination parlor in Geneva-On-The-Lake may be the last remaining place to play in the Northern Ohio/Northwestern PA area.

Thanks for the info-

Thanks Jess. I remembered someone saying they had one but I couldn't find it. That is a shame. :(

Did you notice if they finished painting the Blue Streak? I was one of the volunteers that helped put a fresh coat of paint on it during 3 weekends in April. We were only allowed to paint up to 6 feet above the ground and the rest of the track didn't get painted while we were there. I was just curious as to how it came along with the paint.

It's not done yet.. it looks like the turnaround by the road is finished, but you can see where the 6 ft mark is. I must say, the station and the Carousel is REALLY nice.. I like the bright yellow in the Streak station and the bright colors on Carousel. I was very impressed. Bravo to all who came out and brightened up my 3rd home.

To those who drove Rt. 18 through Hermitage.. I hope you waved at Lowe's.. I was prolly there.. staring at all the lumber almost in tears cuz I wasn't out in the rain painting. :)
