Stratosphere Wants To Add Another Ride

This looks pretty freaky. I get a little wigged out with my ass in a wicker basket on a regular old Waveswinger. It would take more than a little nerve to hop on.

Make sure you watch the video, it includes an animation.

I noticed that this morning. There's no way in hell I'd ride that or X-Scream.
Why not? :)

I'm impressed with thier innovations but where the heck do they go from here? How much more insane can you get?!!?

That thing does look Crazy! Why don't they just make a ride that swings you over the edge only secured by your ankles? Thats the only thing I think could be crazier.

I think they'll need to pass out diapers in the station. ;)

wow. That just looks amazing. It looks like something you would see in a futuristic movie or something. I also agree with Craig, how much further are they gonna push the envelope?

One word...Kingda Ka...wait thats two...
Insane! I'm not sure I would ride that.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who have some reservations about riding.

What's next, a 700-foot drop ride off the side of the tower that crosses over the strip?!?

My blog You said, "I'm gonna run you down." I heard, "I'm an orangutan."
Jesus...

The thing is... I don't think I'd ride it because I don't trust the engineering of a ride like that. A structure collapse, or a cable failure, and you're bye-bye.

And actually, another thought.

What if someone loses a shoe? Surely that'd be enough to kill someone on the ground.

Also, what if someone throws up? :)

Bring it on....;)

Besides the psychological effects (and the possibility of a rider throwing an object off the side) I don't see how this ride is any more dangerous than most amusement park rides. Once you get over a certain height and/or speed, falling out of a ride will kill you. Falling a hundred feet and falling a thousand feet will both kill you. Falling further will not make you more dead.
I would surely ride it, in fact, to me it looky much less "freaky" than the over the top X-Scream. Richard brings up a good point.

OK, I know I posted a bit back going UH UH to Xscream, but you know what? I think I might ride this one... that is as long as you paid me one MILLION dollars.

Almost! City rejected that idea...

FP.....pretty sure Den knew about that, no idea why he failed to include one of these...;)

LOL @ the idea that "we had room for one more ride"....if that's your idea of "room", the suites must be REALLY small...;)

It IS good they *paired* the seats, you'll need to squeeze someone's hand to ride that sucker...:)

I'm gonna have to agree with jpb on this one when he asserts that the threat is primarily pyschological. I can't believe all you pyschos are scared! ;) I'm in, who's coming with me?

I'll get on there with ya, DM....
