The Las Vegas Planning Commission has voted 5-0 to approve a new thrill ride for the Stratosphere. The proposed ride will use a teeter-totter device to flip passengers over the edge of the 1,149-foot building's observation deck -- and then hurl them back to the safety of the deck.

The only memories I have of a teeter-totter was that if you were in the air, and the person on the bottom was getting off, something bad was going to happen.

I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
The ride is what it says: a big see-saw with a skateboard on the top. The see-saw moves up and down, and the car rolls back and forth before being caught by copper brake fins on either end of the see saw.
Even the little KBF version gets going pretty fast before it hits the brakes. This one should be a very insane ride... But a lot of fun.

Impacts? Of people hitting the pavement?
Placement of the ride, staff said in the report, will "minimize impacts to the adjacent area."

Pictures of what the ride will be.
Basically, it is a teeter-totter, except the one side of it will send you going off the edge of the stratosphere.
