Stinger "accident"

http://www.wfmz.com/news/news-regional-lehighvalley/two-injured-on-...r/25822034

I haven't really been able to find anything else other than this article, but it is interesting to me that the ride is out of commission indefinitely, and they removed the entire train.

I'm not sure what the problem was, or why two riders needed to go to the hospital. I mean... From the top or half way up, whats the difference? Isnt it supposed to roll back down?

I heard rumors and speculation that there was some oil that dripped down onto people, but other than that, nothing. I can't figure out what these supposed injuries could possibly be, really, unless people were maybe not paying attention and the train jolted as it fell and caused strains or sprains?

Maybe they will finally remove the ride. It has been nothing but problems since it was added to Dorney (and the problems it had at Great America). There were times the past 2 seasons where it was getting stuck on the lift with riders for over an hour or valleying almost on a weekly basis.

This would be a good replacement:

According to the article comments, the ride broke because Dorney hires communists.

Who knew?

I'm still confused as to what happened. Why is that article is so vague?

That's why I didn't post it as news. It doesn't seem like anything actually happened.

LOL at the comments. People are idiots. Do they really think it's cheaper to get Chinese kids to work? Do they really think they're evil commie bastards? 'Merica!

I debated posting anything, but I thought someone in the know might have more info. And it raised a question for me: would something minor require the manufacturer to be brought in? Could this be indicative of a more serious problem?

As for the comments, I'm with you, Jeff. I think we as a country are misinformed, miseducated, paranoid, and in general, riled up about the wrong things. Sometimes I'm reminded of the movie Idiocracy, and I just cringe.

Idiocracy does seem to be a real future. In 'Merica at least.

I'm pretty sure it started with people saying 'Merica.

So what we're saying is that this is Putin's fault, right?

I call Cedar Point my home park even though I live in the Chicago Suburbs.

Should never have been taken out, but it's not inverted, so I guess it was doomed. ;)
