STEEL VENOM

Two Seats For Steel Venom’s Inaugural Ride Listed on eBayProceeds to Benefit Local Homeless Shelter

Coaster fans are right now being given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bid on the hottest seats in town. Valleyfair Family Amusement Park, located in Shakopee, MN, today listed two seats for the inaugural ride of their new $8.5 million dollar impulse coaster, Steel Venom, on the public auction site eBay.

The majority of seats for Steel Venom’s inaugural ride have been donated to charitable and tourism-related organizations with which Valleyfair is affiliated. For example, two seats were donated to the Twin Cities Tourist Attractions Association fundraiser, two seats went to the Kidney Foundation’s silent auction, and two more to the MN Advertising Federation’s annual fundraiser for the Courage Center. In this manner Valleyfair assists local organizations that make a significant impact on the quality of life for Minnesotans.

However, a few spots on Steel Venom’s inaugural ride were reserved to be auctioned off on eBay. In keeping with the tradition of Steel Venom's inaugural ride seats benefiting Valleyfair's charitable partners, all proceeds from the auction will be donated to People Serving People (www.peopleservingpeople.org), a Minneapolis homeless shelter. So the highest bidder will not only get two tickets to Valleyfair and two seats for the most coveted ride in town, but will also be helping a great cause and organization!

If you are interested in bidding on this incredible opportunity, you can find the listing on eBay under Tickets/Experiences. Or simply search for item #2169612006.

Seeing as how you only waited six minutes between posts, I've decided to not bid. See what being impatient gets you?

I think it would be cheaper to go ride vertical velocity at SFGAM. I believe that one is taller anyways. But I could be wrong.

If you haven't rode Raging Bull in the back row you haven't lived. The feeling on that first drop cannot be explained in words!

I think they're all the same height. They're all clones. And they're all yellow.

Been there, done that, done it again, I can wait. It'll be up all summer.

A couple of limited edition inaugural rider T-shirts would have probably doubled the bidding price if you ask me. You know enthusiasses and bragging rights...

Ya...but the point is too be the 1st ones to ride!

Which is why the tees would have been the better idea. Who'd really believe anyone without the hardest of hard evidence? Of course, VF could always hustle up a few quick 'inaugural rider' buttons using the existing logos and artwork...

ha ha ha! You could make so many "You're so old" jokes out of this.

"You're so old, you have an 'inaugural ride' shirt from the Switchback railway"

The point of this is to support the charities. Yeah, go ahead, make jokes about it, and ride V2, but you aren't helping anyone. Cedar Fair doesn't do this so coaster lovers can brag about how they rode such-and-such coaster first; they are doing this to help the troubled people in our world.
