Steel Dragon 2000/Phantoms Revenge

Did anyone else realize that its impossible to build a ride such as Phantom's Revenge or Steel Dragon 2000 with RCT2? You can only use the giga style track to build them, not the hyper, the hyper won't let you build to their height. How do guys build them?

I don't. If you want a accurate recreation use the Giga coaster track so you can actually do it. Otherwise just use the hyper coaster track.

..and here I always thought the problem was that there were only about a dozen different pieces of track available. ;)

Ah, my first post on these forums......

Actually, you can create the Phantom. I'm not sure about how high you can build the hypercoaster in RCT2, but I did create the Phantom in RCT1.

The Phantom's Revenge has a 225 ft drop but the track isn't really that far from the ground. At it's highest its probably 170 or so. The 225 drops you into a valley on the second drop as you may know, the lift hill is probably only about 170 ft.

I guess it would be hard to save the track and place it in parks, but you can create it with the right terrain.

The lift hill on phantom's revenge is nowhere near 170 feet. If I recall correctly it is only about 100 feet. Actually, I dont think there is a point on the Phantom's revenge where the coaster is more than a 100 feet off the ground.

Ok. I stand corrected. The lift hill is listed as 160 feet on kennywoodboulevard. my mistake.

The second drop is 228 or 230 ft. The steel phantom's drop was 225ft.

Holla at your boy!

PR's 2nd drop is 232 Feet.I can make PR in RCT2, just make a valley type scenario and go from there.

I was pretty sure that they kept the 225 foot drop pretty much the same just with morgan track. I was positive that the steel phantom was 170. Stupid discovery channel i'll kill them!

If you want steel dragon's or phantoms hight on RCT2 with hyper, than use 8 cars per train trainer!
steel dragon 2000 is a giga-coaster, its over 300 feet. It just doesnt have the style of track that intamins giga's have.
No, Steel Dragon is a Morgan giga that uses standard Morgan style hyper track. In RCT2 you can't build a coaster of those proportions using the standard hyper track.

Immelan: Of course the track doesn't look like Intamin; Steel Dragon is a Morgan coaster.

DorneyDante: Steel Dragon uses track that is very different from the hypercoaster track. You can see the differences here.

Ok, phantomtails you are posting that just to be a wise you know what,,,,,,,,,,,,,,your acting as if RCT2 gives you a choice between the two Morgan tracks. Don't you think if they offered that Morgan giga track I'd use it? The most suitable track to use for RCT2, of course, is the standard Morgan hyper. This brings me back to my original question, can you build Steel Dragon 2000 using the standard hyper (because obviously the Intamin-style giga track doesn't fit the bill aesthetically.) I guess the only solution is if you use a trainer that enables you to build coasters at any height.
