Yep...4 or 5 folks on the site have ridden it. But, we both know it's not the best coaster there :)

Jeffrey Seifert said:All the stories indicated the person who got hit was in a nearby pool. Was that a maintenance worker in the pool? This is the first time I've anyone mention the injured person was a maintenance worker.

I could be wrong. I definitely remember the pool as part of the story. I just thought it flew towards the pool and hit a maintenance worker in that area. Again, I could be wrong. I'm in NJ and could care less about Steel Dragon! :P

MrX, the phrase is "could NOT care less."

If you "could care less" that means that you care (at least somewhat) because it is possible that you could care less than you currently are.

whatever!

You know what I mean. :P

I've said this before on here about this exact subject, and it still rings true with me. I work with several Japanese every day, and most of them will have nothing to do with coasters, but they are without a doubt the MOST superstitious people I've ever known. That being said, that coaster may never open again, if their superstitious ways are part of the all-around culture.

One of japanese at my company though, (his name is Suzuki-san) has ridden SD2K and he gets the biggest grin on his face when he talks about it. He says he gets scared everytime he rides a coaster, but there too much fun. His second favorite coaster...Millenium Force!

Superstition or not, that seems like a colossal waste. I mean, they DO have people that are capable of fixing the problem, right? Even if reopened and it had half of its oroginal popularity, it would still be making more $$$ than it is now. (assuming that it's a pay-per-ride, like I remember hearing when it opened)

Pass da' sizzrup, bro!

I don't think it is a pay-per-ride. Nagashima Spa Land has been decribed as the Cedar Point of Japan. So it must be somewhat big for a pay-per-ride park.
If their not going to reopen the ride it should be sold to another park.
It was Pay One Price when I was there in 2001, but they might have a pay per ride option (many parks did)
