Steel Dragon 2000

Has anyone actually went to Japan and rode Steel Dragon? In your opinion, is it better than Millennium Force? What is the ride like?

I am going to Nagashima Spaland next week. I will let you all know what that thing is like after I return on the 25th of July. I would imagine it's like a taller version of Steel Force.
It looks like it (minus the turnaround) on the Morgan website.

No way is it better the drop is only 60 degrees.
yeah, but what about those wicked helices ?? i mean, those have to pull some serious G's

I'll be there in a few weeks. (Man I'm glad I chose a life that involves lots of travel!) Is it better that MF? No. Is MF better than it? No. They are different. I'll tell you which I prefer, but that doesn't mean one is better.

It's funny, I'm actually a little more excited about riding that 107mph Thrust Air that's opening at Fujikyu-Highland at the end of the month than I am the SD2K. (Although I'm REALLY excited about that one too.)

If it's anything like Mamba, which I already prefer over MF, I'd think so. Actually, if it IS like a giant sized Mamba, I'd go as far to say it's the best for me. Ride in the front, Peabody and Nasai!!

That should tell you everything you want to know.

At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs.
Medusafanatic, just how many coasters do you think there are with drops over 60 degrees? Defenitely not the majority! If you use that reasoning, then that's a pretty twisted way of rating rollercoasters. To me it looks like a giant hyper (which it is). That alone makes it look great.

This is insanity to even compare the two. It's obvious that neither offers more than the other. They are both equally qualified to kick your*****when it comes down to it, and it is plain foolish to assume otherwise. I imagine that everyone that pre-qualifies a coaster because it looks cooler, or taller, or has a steeper drop, is probably a bit too attached to their "home" park.
If people actually rode the coaster, they are allowed their comments, because they have bearing. That still doesn't make any difference, because the ride is still subjective. Perhaps I will ride the SD2K on a rainy day (it does rain a lot in Japan). It might very well suck. Who knows? Who cares? I get to ride it, and actually compare it...how many get to even do that. Opinions are great, but they are just that. I will let you know how the ride is from my perspective. I will take pics from the top, and scan them into a website for a friend of mine. Then you will get a first hand view!

This topic is treading thin ice. Dont turn this into an MF vs. SD2K thread.

Chitowns 6 year old daughter says "Daddy, Dippin Dots are nasty!!" I must say that I agree!!
i haven't rode either but i think that Mf would be better and not cause it's at CP or in America but because the layout looks like it's built for more intense stuff and not just airtime, like the overbanked turn on MF look just awsome, but on Steel Dragon 200 it looks like any other hyper just taller, which isn't a bad thing.
Steel Dragon 2000 is lony a 7 foot longer drop, wow!!!! The drop is longer, as a 60 degree drop, so you are on a drop for maybe more than 3 seconds.

I'm from england and haven't been on either, so no one can accuse me of being biased but i reckon MF would be better. I've been on Oblivion so i know how a steep drop feels, and Millenium force has a steep drop which is why i think it is better. Also i think an overbanked turn would be great which is why i think MF would be better. I would still ride sd2k though and i think that it would also be a brilliant ride.
