Steel Coaster Poll- Missing coasters

Has anyone else noticed that Mitch's Steel Coaster Poll ballot is missing coasters?

Cedar Point has 9 coasters listed. Not included are:
* Disaster Transport
* Woodstock's Express
* Wildcat
* Jr. Gemini (not sure if that's normally listed, though)
* Corkscrew

I haven't checked for other missing coasters from other parks, but I don't think voting on an incomplete ballot is a good idea. It might just throw off the results or something. ;)

There are so many Steel coasters, that if every single one was included, it would probably take too long to calculate the results. I think that there are more than 1600 active coasters worldwide, and if its like the wood poll, it includes defunct coasters too, right? Thats a ton of coasters to have to account for.

But nonetheless, Corkscrew should definately be included, and maybe Wildcat.

These coasters aren't missing, they're just production models from companies, so they're all virtually identical. At the bottom of the ballot he goes over which coasters are which model.

Example:

LOOPSCREW:
Corkscrew Valleyfair! MN (3)
Steamin' Demon Great Escape Fun P NY (3)
Corkscrew Cedar Point OH (3)
Wild Thing Enchanted Village/ WA (3) (Arrow-Huss)
Corkscrew Sea World Australi AU (3)
Space Salamader Expoland JP (3)
Loop Screw Seibu-en AP JP (3) (Togo)
Loopen Tusenfryd NO (2) Vekoma

And then you vote for your favorite in the "Fav Loop-Screw, Fav Wildcat, Fav Bobsled" whatever. Since most of these are all the same layout they should 'feel' the same so their overall rank shouldn't differ too greatly.

Ah ha!

Issue resolved.

Move along.

There are some coasters that are missing, though. La Ronde's Dragon, for example.

If you find rides that are truly missing, be sure to send email to Mitch, so that they can be included on next year's ballot if nothing else.

Vapor Trail at Sesame Place

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Vapor Trail may be excluded as a children's coaster -- again, send email to Mitch.

Errrr...ya see, I don't necessarily classify it as a "children's" coaster...it's more of a "family" coaster (i think that's what they list it as on rcdb)...it's a close call when it comes to whether or not it deserves to be on the list or not...I dunno...

Agreed, but the steel coaster poll doesn't list any Vekoma rollerskaters, including Cedar Points and IOA's.

I had a question about missing coasters too, since I looked through the list and didn't see Whirlwind (KG) listed. My list is short enough already, and I would have liked to have given my all-time least favorite coaster a special-individual-last- place ranking in its last year-- well last year in this country anyway.

Anyway, I sent an e-mail to Mitch, who responded promptly and courteously. He explained the idea of the grouping because the list would be too long and the ballots too difficult to manage if every coaster were listed individually.

Probably most people would end up grouping the same type of ride anyway or give them identical numerical rankings, so I guess this eliminates one step for the voters as well.

Would it fall under the production model category too? There are 13 of them...
