"Great Escape did just remove the Steamin' Demon in Ghost Town."
Is this true or it is just a rumor, anyone have any photos proof if this is true?

SFNE's Superman's the best!
i dont believe this to be true, but there were rumors that the steamin deamon had infact seen its final year at the park last season due to problems with the track. Great Escape has updated there rides page, and the Steamin' Deamon remains on there. a new pay attraction the 'Euro-Bungy' has been added to the park, and it seems that the rotor has been removed from the park..(or atleast from the rides page) my guess is though that the rotor was removed and that is the new home of the EuroBungy.
As far as the steamin' deamon though, ill find out in a few weeks when the park opens for Season Pass processing. Ill bring my digital cam and take some pictures to.

It's kind of their "signature ride", for lack of a better term. It certainly wasn't their best ride at the park, but it was their first "real" rollercoaster (they had a wild mouse towards the kiddie section many years back). The thing that made it stand out was the sheer fact that they placed it basically on the outside of the park.
From there, everybody could see it from the road of Rt9, and you could even see it on the thruway... so it always got me excited when I first arrived in the Adridonacks [sp] because that was one of the first signs that we were there.
Sure, it's a plain & dull ride... but it kind of defines the park on the outside for what it is (besides the Desperado Plunge, that is), and it'd be sad to see it go... UNLESS they have an immediate replacement... if not, I'd rather see that coaster be SBNO than be removed!!!
Oh BTW: I hate to say it, but it looks like Great Escape is almost all but done updating it's web page for 2002... why? Because they stress that a stupid new show (magic) is new for 2002. Before, it was in small lettering. Now it's been blown up, and that's just sad.

...It's here, it's here, it's here!!! Whooptie-freakin' doo!!
Ok, what's new for 2003?? I can't wait!!...
I don't understand one thing. If Lake George is such a large tourist spot, why doesn't Six Flags add on to the park to keep tourists coming? I went two years ago and the only thing I heard of was a Sky-coaster (I think, don't mark my words). I remember a huge section of land being cleared behind the Comet. I've also noticed a lot of the rides have been relocated to Great Escape.

I don't know if it has been removed but yes I am quite sad to see it go if there is no replacement for this season. I had talked to many employees about it and they all said it was going to be removed but that leaves a couple of issues: 1. there appears to be no new ride for 2002. 2. why would they remove it without putting something in place?
I wonder if there is a possibility of a new coaster being built mid course through the season like last year's Skycoaster:
