Stealth and its "Eight" Inversions

Jephry's avatar
Okay I have ridden this ride and I know there are not 8 inversions, you know there are not eight inversions. Where did they get this idea from then? What is counted as an inversion on this roller coaster?

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point
Yeah it doesn't make sense. I think the horseshoe element is counted for that number, but even then... 3 real loops, the turn overs at the beginning and before the loops...that's 4 total, right? Then add the horseshoes, but I still don't get 8.

here's more...

"DONT FIGHT IT, RIDE IT",,,,RAGING BULL
Why should they consider it to have 8 loops, when you are only fully inverted three times. Some of Vekoma's Horseshoe Turns aren't considered in other coasters. (I think Rock n' Roller Coaster) We need a re-count, and then another, and then another!
Thank you Chitown.

I think they count every 180 degree twist as an inversion. After all, you were in one position, (face down) then you are in the exact opposite. (face up) After riding, I did not feel as if I had been "inverted" 8 times. Let them claim 8 if they like

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Yeah it doesn't bother me too much, but it is a curious bit of marketing.
1. Tiny drop at top of lift
2. Horseshoe
3. Drop b4 loop
4. loop
5. turn-over b4 corkscrews
6. 1st screw
7. 2nd screw
I only got 7!!!

Top 5:

1.) Medusa (west)
2.) Stealth
3.) Goliath
4.) The Riddler's Revenge
5.) GhostRider
There is a flip over right before the corkscrews, that makes eight. That is, if you buy that nonsense.

Have you ever gotten the feeling that you've been here before? Six Flags Magic Mountain 2001...
