Stark Raven Mad 2003

Riding the coasters was awesome, but the time spent with friends at the campsite will stick with me more than anything else from this past weekend. Especially Saturday night--God, I needed that! Hanging out with my usual posse was fun as usual, and so was meeting so many new cool (gasp!) enthusiasts both Friday and Saturday, drinking, talking, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, drinking, vineswinging (how did that thing NOT snap?), relaxing, and did I mention drinking? We all were deeply affected by the horrible events of Saturday night, but we were there for each other, and I thank you all for helping me feel better.

The only problem is that I now know too many coaster enthusiasts named Rob (Rockstar Rob, Florida Rob, and Just-Call-Me-Willi-Rob, among others). Was anyone else tired of being asked "Which one?" whenever they tried to get a Rob's attention?

Agreed, Chris - could there have *been* more Robs in our group? In addition to the three you mentioned there's also Rob "robocoaster" Bob, from Portland.

Who would have thunk so many gay men would be named Rob?

With Jeff's comments about saturday night, I fully agree with what Jeff did. However, momma always put it to me lightly "Always eat your dessert first, because you never know when your time is up." As silly as it sounds, its basically what we are all about. Even though that night at SRM sent us all in total shock, I got to spend that night with some of my closest friends and my lovely best friend, Kristin.

Aside from the drinking, roasting hot dogs, and swinging on the vines, the most important part of this whole experience was being with those that matter most in our lives. Because you never know just when those times can end. Well said Jeff.

As for the gay thing.... just call me "Willi" ;)

I'm quite disappointed that I wasn't able to join all of you at the campsite. Liz and I left ERT Friday night and got some much needed rest after our 12-hour drive, and Saturday night we just weren't in the mood for obvious reasons. I kind of regret that now, as we could have used some cheering up.

Despite the obvious, we had a wonderful time last weekend. It was great meeting some new people and putting faces with screen names. I recognized many more folks than I actually met, but the ones I did meet--ThemeDesigner, Kick the Sky, Nasai (who didn't meet Rob? ;) ), Peabody, & vacoasterfreak--it was indeed a pleasure.
