They have been teasing for a bit now that they might come to Orlando. Glad they finally announced it. It will do very well in Central Florida.

From Len Testa's review:
...From the moment you set foot out of your car, assume that every conversation you have with a Halcyon crew is being recorded and analyzed for possible inclusion inside the game later."
I didn't think about it, but there's a control room, Hunger Games style, where AI or humans are acting in real time to manipulate the experience. I can't believe I didn't think that through. We are almost at the Westworld era.
Now I am TRULY intrigued by this
Me too, and not so much as a fan (I’m not) but as a performer. I wonder what it would be like to work there as an interactant. (I think I just made that word up). Anyway, what’s the day like, what’s the money, how scripted is it? The idea of being fed info on the fly about the guest speaks directly to my improv skills.
“Some days are available three months out for my astronomically priced rooms” sounds like a problem most hotels would love to have.

I love how the negative narrative has now evolved to suggest that room availability three months out is now symbolic of failure.

I have no horse in this race, but I would not have expected there to be availability in June/July. I would not call it a failure by that metric, but it surprising to me.
I cannot get their availability link to work on my computer - does it show the availability as generically "available" or does it indicate how many rooms are available? If there are 99 rooms available then I could see that as being a problematic indicator. But if there are only a couple of rooms available then I don't see it as a failure.
Their booking policies are pretty strict.
20% down at time of booking but you must pay 100% if you are inside 90 days.
Cancellation 31-89 days prior to arrival subject to 50% penalty. Inside 30 days and there is no refund.
Change in dates not allowed inside 89 days and change in party size or dates after booking subject to a $350 fee...for each change.
So, you have to want it...and you have to want it bad.
