what's going on with star tours at WDW, last message i received from my uncle says there changing for the new trilogy b ut may expand it to a rollercoaster.

I HIGHLY doubt it will ever be transformed into a coaster.
I have heard, and believe that the movie will change, into the new series.
I will be going down to WDW on the 19th, and can let you know if I hear anything.
I've heard that they're changing it into a Prequel related simulator. However, there's been some delays due to relations between Lucasfilm and Disney.

I hope they do change it, it is terrible, you feel like your in a very small movie theater watching a stupid movie with an annoying robot talking to you every 2 seconds, it doesnt even give me the sensation that I am flying through outer space, now Back to the Future, thats a different story!
Kevin, crazy thing is even George Lucas, when he rode it last year, thought that the ride was rather sad.

The ride opened around 1990 I think,so Disney should have changed the movie a while ago. I was glad Paramount changed Days of Thunder because that one was almost as bad as Star Tours. The movie was just too simple. But I have so much fun there no matter what. I'm starting to get a little tired of the Muppet Show too on the subject of Disney Studios. A new movie would be good. I've just seen it so many times since we've gone every year since like 1992. But look at the money Disney makes from that. They must be doing something right. No I Love WDW. The atmosphere is excellent.
I hear that they are changing the movie for Star Tours at Disneyland too.
