Star Jet now testing at Miler Coaster Co.

I drove by Miler Coaster Co. here in Portland,Oregon and saw a coaster train on the lift hill of Star Jet.This piqued my curiosity,so I pulled over to Milers' lot and watch them pull the train to the top of the lift hill with ropes, pulleys and a forklift. The lift chain was not operational yet.Carl Miler came out and introduced himself to me and told me some of the specs on the new coaster. The lift hill is 57 feet tall and has a 6 car articulated train. They were only running 3 cars for the test run.A few minutes later I watched the first successful curcuit of Star Jet.If only I had a camera or camcorder with me!

Also, more track was evident on the Wildcat coaster under construction in Milers' front lot. This coaster is going to Wild Island in Sparks(Reno) Nevada.

So are their coasters like good ol' Anton's rides?

I think Milers' coasters are on a par with Schartzkopfs' rides.Star Jet will not be a disapointment. This coaster has drops that go all the way to the ground and sharp turns. There will be airtime and laterals on this coaster.I took some photos of it today, but Fred Miler asked me not to put them on the net until after the ride is delivered and is in operation. To sum it up,Star Jet will be a worthy successor to Jet Star at Casino Pier.

Nice. So you will be able to post the pics sometime around midsummer? Sounds like a winner coaster :)
