I have been doing the training and raising their wages to keep them around. But the zoning is a joke. They always leave their zones and have absolutley no loyalty to it. I've tried disciplining them as well, but to no avail.
Using the first scenario as an example, how many mechanics did you use? In RCT2 I would have a mechanic for every ride and zoned them specifically to that ride exit (RCT3 sneakily uses the front entrance for mechanics).
So, I suppose my two questions are: 1) In Vanilla Hills how many mechanics would be a good number? and 2) IS there a definite way to keep them in their zones?
Thanks guys.
If not, their inablility to stay in a zone is a known bug.
If you did pacth it, I'm at a loss for an answer.
My personal strategy is to not zone mechanics. 2 or 3 mechanics left to roam (with rides set to 10 min inspection) can handle a decently sized scenario park with little innefficiency. If you want to make them even more efficient, just call them to a ride when you get a break down message.

I'll try the non-zoning thing, and I have tried 'calling' them to a ride. Problems still abound though.
Also, maybe I missed it, but is there a way to see all zones covered by, say, a janitor? In RCT2 you could see all zones covered and easily find any places that were not covered. I haven't been able to figure how to do it in RCT3.
