Wow, the coaster world IS running out of ideas.

Have you ever seen the Demon?
Have you ever heard him scream.............
That's been brought up before a couple of times. There are a few problems with this. First, if it was possible, it would probably cause too many G's and the riders would be pushed into their harnesses, and second...the driving systems has a cable connected to each side of the tower to make it go up and down. Since the cables must be straight, this wouldn't be possible for it to work.
This isn't to say that its not possible with a re-design though. They could have a cylindrical vehicle attached to the cables, and have the actual part of the ride that holds the seats be independent from the vehicle and have the seats spin real fast with wheels. Kind of like an extreme version of Acrophobias wheel system.

Anything can be designed so that the Gs aren't too high. Imagine a twist tie that is straitened out. Okay now twist it just a little. If your S&S ride vehicle were to shoot up that twist tie at 60 MPH, it wouldn't be too bad. Now twist the tie a WHOLE, WHOLE BUNCH. If the same imaginary ride vehicle were to be shot up that twist, the lateral G forces would be too strong.
I hope that helps you to understand the way ride designs work a little better.

I love roller coasters, and I need psychiatric help. Or a roller coaster.

i was thinking of an S&S Space Shot that had a twisting track (aka a Wicked Twister spike), but then the G's would probably be tooo high.-----------------

That wouldn't be possible. You DO know that the S&S ride vehicles are attached to four cables on each of the four sides of the car right? So by twisting the tower, you would be unable to run the ride.
