S&S in April '03 Popular Mechanics

The S&S "Flyswater" is featured on page 35 of the new issue of Popular Mechanics Magazine. Best of all, they say it will be debuting at a few parks, starting this spring !

Anyone know where yet ?

On a side note, I saw a commercial for 2 amusement park/thrill ride shows that will be on the Travel Channel on Friday. I think they are new shows too.

I know the flyswatter is going in Six Flags Houston but I don't know of any other parks.

Yes, Travel Channels Friday show is new, We filmed the PKI segments last spring. 30+ SOB rides Woohoo!

Chuck, who's legs still hurt from that one :)

It is my personal belief that Lesourdsville Lake is closed for 2003. I'll let you know if anything is announced.

As far as I know SFAW is the only US park to debut a Swatter.

I think there was another Swatter going in to Europe (SFH, perhaps?). But I'm certain that AW deems theirs "the only ride of it's kind in the US"...

Of course, I know another *manufacturer* who claims the same thing...;)

SFH is getting some fresh air this year.. nothing more. No S&S Sky Swatter, not even the kindly requested new restrooms. :(

Chuck, they're just now showing that? I thought they had showed that late last summer. My head is still spinning from that mess. I'm still trying to figure out how we sat through 30+!

I wouldn't doubt that article when it says some Sky Swatters will be debuting. I remember the WIRED magazine from sometime around spring of 01 that talked about this new concept ride S&S was developing given the name Absolutely Insane, that would debut at multiple parks. Sure enough CP, SFMM, and Knott's all ended up with one.

All I can Say is that Ride is awsome! I have been on it many times here at the test site in Logan.
While I don't doubt more will pop up soon, Astroworld's advertising theirs as the only one in the world this season.

And no one has spotted another being erected yet.
