S:ROS stopping incorrectly?

Now that they have both trains running on S:ROS at New England, the trains arent lining up with the gates. They stop about 2 feet to the right of the gates. When you get on you have to step to the right to be in the correct row. Last weekend people were getting in the wrong rows and it was confusing the loading. I hear it was the same yesterday too. Why are they doing that? Because of last years crash?

Does this happen a lot or was it just a one time incident? I doubt it is because of the crash, something like that wouldn't cause this to happen. I have noticed this happens on Shockwave at SFGAm a lot too. I am sure it just happens and has nothing to do with the crash.

This happened when I went on the 29th. It's not a big problem. Everyone was going in the wrong row and the ride operaters had to direct them to the right row. People can be so dumb. If they would just listen then they would of heard, Step To Your Right!

I think they probably have an automated system that stops the train, so it's probably not the operator who's stopping trains out of position. Sounds to me like a proximity limit needs to be moved.

I've been back since 2 train, but not too recently (Mid July I think). I don't seem to remember any difference between the stopping position all through the beginning of the season and during mid july.

Its been like that since the ride opened. Step to your right to board your designated row.

Just for my own edification.....if it always stops to the right of the rows, why not paint stripes on the floor to direct guests to their appropriate row on the coaster train......we KNOW people don't listen to operator's instructions, and I'm sure it gets pretty "tired" for them too.....

As far as painting stripes, that would be the obvious thing to do, but we know how the obvious is sometimes overlooked. The same issue has been occuring on Timberwolf @ WOF since 1989. They used the old Screamroller que house (arrow corkscrew) to house T-wolf. Because the PTC trains are smaller, very few if any of the rows line up. I always laugh when people watch the 5 trains in front of them load with the people stepping either direction to get in, but still go to the wrong car.

I have a feeling the painted lines would have the same impact as yellow lines showing where you should wait (no gates) guests ignore those as well as not sitting on the rails.

Oh well...sometimes you just have to laugh.
