SRM: Before 6:00?

So, I'm finally officially getting to go to my first SRM (and finally get the chance to stalk Nasai and Peabody. Mwa ha ha.)

My question is this... what happens before 6:00 on Friday? Do they go ahead and let you into the park or do they make you wait at the gate until it's time to gather for ERT? I'll be camping so I'll need to set up, but I'm wondering if there's any point straining to get there as early as possible (from Chicago) so I can have more time in the Park.

TTD? DDT?

TD!

There's a "New Stalker Orientation" session at 5:15pm in the parking lot. ;)

You'll get ERT tickets (3 I think) and one full day ticket to use at SRM. You use the ERT tickets during ERT (duh!) and the full day ticket you use during normal operating hours either Friday OR Saturday...but just one day. So if you get there before 6:00pm on Friday, you can only get in if you use your full day ticket...meaning you couldn't use it on Saturday.

Also, I've heard Nasai and Peabody will be at SFKK on FriDAY. So you probably just chill out at the campground and plan your stalking. Rest up...it's hard work. Save your ticket for Saturday.

Our tickets are only to get us in at 6pm. They will corral us into the theater for a little welcome from Wil, Pat and Paula. From what Paula has said, there will also be an auction...

Once they clear the park of non-SRMers, they will unleash us onto the park... ;)

The event starts at 6 PM. central time Friday, if you want in before that you will have to purchase an additional days ticket.

So you believe that you are studying us, then kindly explain why you are the ones trapped in your seats.

However: You can get lots of rides in on Friday, much more so than Saturday. If you're new to Holiday World, I'd highly recommend spending that Friday getting to know the park. My first visit (on an SRM Friday) saw me riding everything in the park, and Raven and Legend about 10-20 times each. Lines will be much longer on Saturday.

Mike Miller - SFMM: We have fewer flat rides than a bad church carnival.

Actually...we honor the Friday ERT tickets beginning at 5:00 pm CT.

Yes, the park is less busy on Friday, however please keep in mind this is a day when there'll be lots of school groups. :) A slightly different atmosphere and energy level than what you'll normally find here...

If you want to pick up your registration packet earlier on Friday, that's fine. We'll have them available at 9:30 am CT.

And yes, we will have an auction on Friday (in the Hoosier Celebration Theater this year...we needed more room than last year's venue). I was just grubbing around for more items and got some goodies that I think will be quite popular. :)

A reminder: SRM pre-registration must be postmarked by Saturday, May 10, or just plan to spend the extra $5 and register on-site.

See you soon! Paula

I just mailed my SRM form today and I am psyched to go my first SRM.

I have heard so many wonderful things about Holiday World I am really looking forward to the event.

My question, (although I think I know the answer), does the event go off rain or shine (assuming no lightning)?

I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

Hey Paula...

I was just comparing a 2001 map with 2003's.. did y'all re-route the Lewis & Clark cars to put in Hallowswings? It looks like they used to encircle the Banshee, but they don't go around Hallowswings.

I'm dropping my reg. in the mail in 10 minutes. YEEEEEEEHAW

Yes, they did have to re-route the cars...Paul Drabek mentioned it in one of his construction Updates... http://www.negative-g.com/HolidayWorld/HW2003/2003Construction/4-12-tour/2003-construction-4-12-03-13.html

A path was added from the Raven to the entrance to Splashin Safari (roughly), and the Cars were re-routed to stay above the path; they now have a figure-eight layout.

Edit: And of course George beats me. ;>)

Going to be a long trip down for us (mapquest estimates 7 hours, not including stops) so we'll likely chill out in Santa's Lodge for an hour or two before 6 pm.

I think ERT will more than make up for long lines on Saturday afternoon. And I'm looking forward to spending some time in the water park!

SVLFever - yes, rain or shine, so long as conditions are safe to run the rides. I've ridden both in downpours. In fact you might want to pray for a brief sprinkle pre-ERT....makes Raven and Legend run all the more faster ;)

I thought I might not be able to but I can go this year! I just have a question. WIll you be allowed to take on-ride video on Saturday during the day? I just want to make sure I can get some good footage during the day so it comes out good. Also is the auction at 6:00?

No...Cameras are NOT allowed on the rides during non-ERT times..

Yes, the auction will be on Friday night around 6pm...If they do what they have done in years past, the auction won't actually start until 6:15-6:30...but you get the idea...

To anyone else reading: if you have questions about the event *please* check the SRM flier first...it will answer most if not all of your questions.

Yes, the auction will be part of the theater session beginning when the park closes at 6 pm CT on Friday.

I think all the other questions have been answered by my unpaid assistants. :)

Thanks, Paula

Yeah, Paula, wanted to talk to you about that...I've answered approximately 6 questions about Holiday World this year on Coasterbuzz, RRC, Westcoaster, etc...

At $5 per question, that comes up to $30. Please send a check directly to my address, which I believe you have on file (unfortunately, I won't be able to come pick it up at the park this year). You can also feel free to pay me in nice new souvenir T's from the Legend as well, if that suits you better!

;-)

I'm just happy I'm being stalked by someone besides Dawn. ;)

SRM is gonna be smashing. Peabody and I will be at SFKK for the morning, but will be at HW by 5 at the latest. We have to meet our RV sharers (read as CPG danger monkeys), and get settled in for the fun.

Please God. No rain. Please. Please. Please.

Let the stalking begin.

Rob, trust me, you won't mind SOME rain just before hitting Raven and Legend.

Paula, I have plenty of questions, but I'm sure you're going to make me wait until Friday night to see what's in the auction...
