Square Footage of SFGAm

What is the square footage of SFGAm? I am considering buying 2-way radios, and want to know if I could get off with 2-milers.
Yeah you can they will work. i dont know the meausements but I would guess there alot less than 2 miles cause my whole town is one square mile and it is huge. You should have now problem. You just have to get ones with lots of channels cause lots of people bring them and are always on channels 1 and 2. I have audiovox ones they have like 15 channels and 40 sub channels.

Um, you can rest assured that neither Great America, nor (I'm pretty sure) any other amusment park is over a mile wide, much less two. Unless you count all of Disney World.

Those radios will work just fine. I live about a mile and a half from SFGAm and can talk with the people in the park.

I see Superman!
The only problems with using the radios in the park is that you end up with a lot of other people using the same channels. I tried them one time and didn't have much luck since people I didn't even know kept talking.

You call it a problem, I call it entertainment.

Yeah, the range isn't so much an issue as the number of channels, and for that matter, subchannels. You're probably going to want a good number of them (more than 15 total) because a lot of families use these things, and things get pretty hairy when a lot of confused people use the same channel.

Oh yeah, it is entertainment! When I was @ Disney a couple years back I got yelled at by a mom wanting to know why I left EPCOT and ended up at MGM. The other catch was is that she sounded a lot like a member of my party so I was also confused about how she ended up at another park. Yeah, I'm sure this isn't funny to you as it was to me but oh well.

I don't care what anyone says, Magnum is better then Millenium Force.

This talk of hearing other people's conversations on two way radios reminds me of American Pie 2 when other people heard some intersting stuff
Thank you all.

The $20/ per radio motorola ones have 14 channels and 39 sub-channels (0-38). $40 for two is a good deal.

Whats red yellow and blue at SFGAm...???

I think that Animal Kingdom might be a little more than 2-miles across. Think from the back of the Safari area to the front gate. That is pretty far. However SFGAm isn't even close to being as big as AK, so you'll be fine.

Speaking of two way radios. I was at a park one time and someone had taped one underneath the toilet seat in the bathroom. They kept making noises and it was quite a scene! Guess you had to be there.
