Sports City, Sandusky Ohio

The search feature was not working, so I don't know if this topic has been brought up already.

I went to CP this past weekend and we had planned to spend some time at Sports City on one of the nights. We hopped in our car and headed over to it.

It is GONE! Rubble. What happened? Does anyone know?

Home Depot.

New shopping center in Sandusky...first store is Home Depot. Kohl's, Target are soon to follow. The Hoty's did provide a fun place to hang out, but now Goofy Golf is all we have left.

I was at Sports City the last day it was open this year...it was a JOKE!! I swear people around this area of Ohio, don't know how to make a good mini-golf course...not to mention keep it in shape once it's built. When we last played there, it had 4 different types of "grass" out of 18 holes we played. It was bad.

However, I think they have gone through 3 owners with the place and no one could make any money off it (I can go into a whole nother sagga on that alone.) It got shut down in early part of summer. They had an auction of which I got some GREAT stuff I needed DIRT cheap.

Yes, Home Depot is going there and other stores to follow.

It's about time they update that strip with nicer stores (Best Buy is also opening up any day now.) Sandusky by CP is like driving the strip by Disney Land, before they fixed it all up. It's like shack city. Things are starting to clean up a little but, it's always odd driving to CP in summer time.

Personally I think if someone would creat a GREAT Dinner Theater presentation in the area of that strip, it would make a KILLING during the summer time...but then there's always that thing in Ohio called winter ;)
