Speed

Okay, I was talking to a fellow Coasterbuzzer, and we were discussing our home parks shuttle loops. However, hers is a dropbox type ride, and ours is a flywheel. I was wondering what the first Schwarzkopf was to use a flywheel, and if flywheels provide a quicker launch than drop boxes. Thanks.

I've heard that the flywheel launched give more of a "kick" (i.e. acceleration) than the weight-drop models do, but I think the top speeds are about the same.

The reason for the switch was probably mechanical. The flywheel models may have been easier to repair or maintain.
