Spanish soccer team wants to build theme parks in Miami and Beijing

Spanish sports newspaper AS quoted Real Madrid President Florentino Perez as saying the team is in negotiations with the mayors of Miami and Beijing to create two theme parks. The parks are part of a strategy to develop the team's worldwide brand.

Is there any land available in Miami? I thought that there is a shortage of large land parcels in Miami. How about a heavily themed hyper coaster loaded with airtime? A hyper is one of the very few coasters left that hasn't been built in FL.

There is plenty of land in Miami...particularly south of Miami. The question is: will they be willing to pay for it b/c land is like gold down here and it will cost them.

There have been plenty of groups that, at one time or another, have talked about building a full-fledged park down here but those talks usually lead to nowhere.

You must be talking about Homestead I would think. Isn't it in a particular bad spot for Hurricanes as opposed to the rest of FL? I think someone has mentioned that at one time.
