Space Shot and Turbo Drops...whered they go?

Are S&S towers becoming unpopular for some reason? It just seems like they havent built any in a while. The only reason i could see for his hapening is may is maybe their focusing more on the Thrust Air now.

Well, they haven't gone anywhere, they've built over a hundred of them! As to why new ones aren't being built as much this year, well, more parks have them then don't it seems.

Also, at around threehundred feet, I think that these towers are reaching their limits. The pull outs are intense!!! I know that S&S will live on through their Snow Shot and Thrust Air rides. Can the turbo drops go higher and higher? I may be mistaken.

Coasters- a little slice of heaven

The Space Shots are the only ones with a limit, I believe, with a maximum height of a little over 300 ft. Turbo drops, on the other hand, have no limit what so ever. They can and will go MUCH bigger, I predict. I remember reading about all this somewhere...but I forget where. It was a very respectable site though..I know that.

We aren't seeing as much because most parks have some sort of freefall ride and the ones that don't simply aren't interested in one right now.

Theyre still being built everywhere! S&S built Power Tower at Valleyfair last year, and this year they are buiding a turbo drop at Funtown, USA in Maine. Maliboomer also opened at DCA this year, and WB Movie World in Madrid, Spain is getting a triple tower. I don't belive there is a limmit on either tower,But they look to have their hands full with thrust air. Hmmm... who knows though?

Rockrc480, Yes VisionLand is building both a Turbo Drop and a Space Shot named Stratus Fear. They we're supposed to open today but here in B'ham we have had rain every other day for like a month and construction is behind. In yesterday's paper it said they will open in three weeks!

Rampage is on Thrills Chills and Spills 2001!!

I was hoping the S and S would build a space shot that was 350-400 feet and went 100 MPH. It would need a double lunch about halfway through the ride cuss a big launch just wont work!

A 100 MPH air powered thrust down? I don't think so. Well at least in terms of anyone riding one.

I think at one of the IAAPA shows someone reported that Stan said he could build Turbo Drops 500ft tall!! Hey, wasn't there an old rumor that SFMM would get one?
