Sources say Comcast to buy Blackstone's stake in Universal Orlando

Comcast Corp. has decided to buy the Blackstone Group's half of Universal Orlando, two people familiar with the plan said Tuesday. The move would give the Philadelphia-based cable-TV giant full control over NBCUniversal's biggest and most profitable theme park, which has been experiencing record crowds since opening the Wizarding World of Harry Potter last summer.

Seems like a "duh" move to me, though analysts were convinced when the Comcast/NBC-U deal went down that they'd shed the theme park business. Maybe they finally get it.

I hope this means they will invest even more for new rides and attractions
(WWoHP phase 2,transformers,water-park etc.) Since the upside is now twice as profitable :)

They already have a water park there.

No they don't
Wet and wild is down the road

2 water rides in toon lagoon
a water play space in kidzone
No on-site water park

Seriously? It's across the interstate and visible from the property. Why would they build one on that side of the interstate when the already have one a hundred yards away? USO isn't Disney. And di
Disneys water parks aren't just across the street either.

From what I understand, Universal owns Wet 'n Wild, but they are leasing the land that it sits on and the lease is almost up.

Universal also recently trademarked a name for a waterpark, for what it's worth:
