Son of Beast further delayed?
Seems the rumors are flying furiously about Son of Beast and it's opening.
There have been several reports on rec.roller-coaster (hotbed of inciteful, accurate reporting that it is) that emails have been sent from PKI stating Media Day tomorrow was canceled and SoB would not be opening for the Season Pass Preview days Wednesday and Thursday.
That in turn spawned MORE rumors, such as that Son of Beast would be running with only one train this weekend -- or would be closed alltogether.
Does anybody have any idea just what the situation is at the moment with SoB? A whole lot of inquiring coasterheads want to know. :)

I myself have ridden the SOB on Sunday with my a couple of other fellow execs. The ride was great. I only got to ride it cause i am going to be working on it during the season. We have been having some difficulties with the other cars but testing on the first car have been great. i just talked to one of the execs and they said tomorrows media day is going to be cancelled. It didn't help that Thursday/Friday was stormy, but it will manage. Testing with the dummies is about complete... That is all the info i have till i talk to some of my higher up people.

I was there last Friday and Saturday.On Friday they where breakin in the second train.Everything went great no trouble at all,and from what Ive seen on Saturday everything was on schedule.
I cant wait to get back there in a month or so to ride it.

For what it is worth, the noon news here in Columbus (WBNS 10) said the electrical system was damaged by a recent storm so the preview things for this week were cancelled. They said the park expects the ride to open on Friday.

The ride was great, it was a pretty smooth ride, just a couple of little rough spots. The loop kinda isn't what was expected, you go fast through the loop so there isn't any good air time in the loop. Other than that it is a GREAT roller coaster. Sorry about the delay, but PKI is very optimistic that the ride will be ready Friday(if there isn't any more WEATHER difficulties) the whole world should be satisified with SOB.... I just got to say it has a long time before it outlives the Beast (if it ever does).

How exactly have you ridden on the SoB? There is NO way they are going to let people on it before it is fully tested.
Employees have been on it, that's pretty common at any park.

I flew out there Sunday and rode it too. Wait, I didn't. Oh well.
