Kings Island has voluntarily shut down the Son of Beast roller coaster after a woman claimed that she had suffered a head injury after riding the coaster last month, according to park officials.
Read more from The Dayton Daily News.
What I find sad is that only about 1/4 of the ride is where all the discomfort comes from. From the 2nd hill to the midcourse is awful, basically the rose bowl from start to finish.
The station drop is slower with the new trains, but still interesting. The lift is obnoxiously loud, but the first drop is the best part of the ride. The second half is now boring minus the loop, but not painful. I'll never understand why they thought a double helix with that much banking would be a good idea. I'd much rather have a trim (gasp!) on the second hill followed by a helix which is identical to Beast's.
When I think of the Beast, I think of tunnels, not helices. When they converted the Scooby-Doo coaster to The Beastie, they added a tunnel!
The whole concept of a ride which is the "son" of Beast was such a good one. Too bad it was so poorly executed. Just imagine if they had a built a "Voyage-like" coaster (it has tunnels!) instead.

Six Flags is worse since they only have 3 levels, low thrill, moderate thrill and high thrill. The Dark Knight, Skull Mountain, Runaway Mine Train and Rolling Thunder are all rated as high thrills, the same rating as Kingda Ka and Nitro.
Wait... Dark Knight isn't as thrilling at Nitro or Kingda Ka? Heehee...
My Top 5: 5- Alpengeist 4-Superman: Ride of Steel 3-El Toro 2-Milleunnium Force 1-Nitro

Less thrilling. But definitely more fun.
Then again, most things are more fun than Nyquil...err, Nitro - the nighttime sniffling sneezing coughing aching stuffy head fever so you can rest roller coaster.

I prefer a powerful ride that tries to throw me off like an angry bull over one that caresses my buttocks as it gently floats me around like a child in the arms of his mother.
Interestingly, 2 years later El Toro was installed. You're all welcome. ;)
