The first big drop, drop into the loop, and the last drop before the brakes are the spots for some air.
Every now and than, depending on where you sit,you can get some air on the second big drop as well.

There is some air on the big drop (the 214 footer) and maybe one or 2 of the other drops. Otherwise, it's just intense and incredibly fun.
It's not a ride for everyone, especially the weak of heart or people (i.e. enthusiasts) expecting massive airtime. It's scary, exciting, and not nearly as rough as you'd expect. I was in more pain after riding The Boss, Screaming Eagle (both SFStl), Thunderbolt (Kennywood), Mean Streak (Cedar Point), and Big Dipper (SFWOA). Beast & Racer at PKI provide more than enough airtime. I personally think SOB was designed to offer a great ride without taking away from the positive aspects of Kings Island's other wooden coasters. I feel that this is the most underrated rollercoaster in North America. Beast is my favorite, but his Son comes in a close 2nd.
On a side note, I've never ridden Shivering Timbers, but hope to either later this season or at the beginning of the 2003 season. It looks incredible!

I still have zero understanding of why anyone has found the ride rough or uncomfortable since 2001. I don't recommend sitting on your hands or clutching the lap bar the entire ride either as that just magnifies the shaking you probably feel. Anyways, like I said to my friend, for those who've never been on Flying Eagles or refuse to ride SOB after 2000, let's just keep the two "hidden gems" our little secret.

Honestly, I don't mind being thrown aronud or rough rides at all...............I actually think they are kind of fun. But when I sat back seat on SoB, it was MURDER.........I got a really bad ride.
