Son of Beast accident at PKI sends dozens to hospital

An apparent malfunction at Kings Island’s Son of Beast sent at least 27 thrill seekers to area hospitals late Sunday afternoon. As of 9:30 p.m. 17 had been released. None of the injuries were life-threatening. Some of the people on the ride declined being transported, said Maureen Kaiser, spokeswoman for the theme park. It was not immediately known what caused the roller coaster riders to complain of discomfort after the ride came to a stop. The ride was shut down at 4:45 p.m., Kaiser said.

Read the newer news. It had nothing to do with the loop.
I hope to see this ride shut down. It has been a disaster since the construction started. It fell over when they were trying to build it. That should have been a sign then to axe this project. If you talk to any of the maintenance workers for PKI they will tell you that there is no way there family is riding the SOB. They have seen way too much and say it's just a matter of time before someone gets killed. You guys probably never heard about the test run in the past where a piece of track peeled up and inpaled the coster. I would have hated to see the results of that ride with people on it. But, this is one of those stores that didn't get out there and believe me there are more.
