Sometimes I use a big empty park just to build coasters. However, sometimes when I build a big ride, then try to place it down, the game says "You can't place this here."
THERE ARE NO TREES, NO HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS, NOTHING TO BLOCK IT, YET IT STILL WONT LET ME PLACE IT.

Maybe the rides you are trying to place have underground sections that cannot be accomodated in the land you are trying to use. Just a thought.

I had the same problem,but I used the arid heights park,so money was not a factor.
Have you chacked if the coaster goes off the map?

Make sure it isn't too tall for the ride supports. You might have changed the land on the first one to make it tall enough.
I have found that if your ride goes undergound at all, don't even bother hitting 'save track'. I have some nice coasters I'd love to clone for my other parks, but can't because of the underground segments. Also if you terraformed in order to get the ride segments to fit, you have to place the coaster on a plot of land that is terraformed exactly the same, again this fits into my "Don't bother to save track category"
Also check your track layout for elements that do not come standard with that tracktype. For example, the vertical loop on a vertical drop coaster does not usually come as a standard design feature and must be researched as a ride improvement.
Money isn't an issue for me as I use trainers.
i have rides with tunnels and that went under ground and also in and out of a big peice of lifted land and i can save it? but if i save one ride and click on another one to save i somtimes i cant? i dunno that games freaky somtimes.
