Something To Ponder : #1

Have any of you ever thought about what it would be like if any wood coaster out there, I'll use The Beast as an example was a steel coaster instead of wood, but used the same landscaping, terrain, and track course? And vice versa, such as a ride like Millenium Force in wood form? I'm chortling at the thought. How interesting it would be if it were like that for a day. Every woodie turns steel and every steel turns wood. How cool would that be?
There is a steel terrain coaster like the Beast. It's the Ultimate in Lightwater Valley, in England. It was the longest coaster in the world for years. I think it looks fun!!!!

I dunno about the Ultimate. I heard you spent like 80% of the ride on chain lifts. There's even a turn so flat and slow, it has a chain pulling the train around it. Sounds like it has a few exciting points, but then gets very boring. To me it doesn't sound like a ride that gets a lot of re-rides.

Very often I tell my roommate that if ghostrider was made out of steel with the same layout, it would suck. That was brought about, because one of my friends who doesn't know much about coasters said, "why would you make a ride out of wood when you could make it out of steel?" He's only been on colossus, though, so I guess I can't blame him. Anyway, my roommate and I were making fun of him for that, and I told him the ghostrider thing, and the joke stuck.
Flame me all you want, but I think Magnum would look cool as a wooden coaster. Same goes Steel Eel. Rattler would probably be better as steel because it would most likely still have its original drop.
