Some "X" news!

Congratulations, Brandon, once again your negativity puts a damper on our enthusiasm. But thats just my opinion.
Actually, I find his post to be more realistic than pessimistic. Based on other Arrow coasters that have needed modification after a few months or years, it is safe to say that X might face more problems. Look at Drachen Fire. Opened as a great ride...modified 2 years down the road for pretty much the same thing, lack of smoothness in ride, and shut down a few years later, and eventually torn down a few years after that. X might just have had a rough start but it would not look good to me if I decided I wanted one in my park.

Don't be saying things like that unless you ridden it becasue your post sounded like you didn't.

Jeff, Did you forget to feed the Raptor again? That Raptor is not in a good mood. See http://www.orlandosentinal.com/business/tourism/orl-asecbirds19071902jul19.story?coll=orl%2Dbusiness%2Dheadlines%2Dtourism and you know what I mean.

HELL YEAH!!!
I'm ready for ride number 5 on X!! Aren't you glad you live in Southern Cali? Oops, I forgot most of you guys live--never mind.

I wish I lived in Ohio, actually. About getting rides on X, I wouldn't build my hopes up.

Are you guys that ignorant that you already forgotten that X is a PROTOTYPE? What part of that word do you guys not understand?

OutKast - good point. Perhaps those who don't understand what a prototype is can go to www.eye-dee-eye-oh-tee.com for a clue.

Moosh - grumpy due to lack of sleep.

With a ride like X, it could be torn down after 1 year and still be worth all they put into it. All the pessimists that are too far away should be rooting for success, then maybe you would get one yourself. And don't act like you don't care. This is without a doubt the most significant ride out there right now.

Wow, quite alot of harshness. I'd like to think I'm not ignorant nor an idiot, but rather realistic. Of course I'm hoping this ride will succeed; I don't believe that I nor anyone else has said otherwise. I do know what a prototype is, also.... Vertigo, anyone? I personally, living on the other side of the country from X, would not at this point in time build my hopes of a california vacation on X being reliably operative. Of course I want X to succeed, because it would be great for Cedar Point to get one that outblasts the one at SFMM. There, I said it. Flame away bahahahahahaha ;-)

Lol!!

God bless you, coderGirl

Mike E, shankyew!! :-D I truly was not expecting that type of response!! LOL! I thought I'd be a goner for sure!!! :-)

Actually, my post was not geared towards you. But rather a general shot out to the people who expect *any* prototype to run like clockwork. Yes Vertigo was a prototype, and guess what? There is one that still exists!

My point is, prototype means "never attempted before". Try doing something you've never done before and see how successful you are the first time. The point is, whether X succeeds or not is almost not even the point, Arrow has proved that this type of ride CAN work. That in itself is quite a shot in the arm for the industry.

I'd would suspect comments like the ones made about X from the GP, for the most part they don't know any better. But any enthusiasts knowing the nature of X's roots who would travel across country expecting X to be reliable in it's first year, first of all, has a short memory(SOB, Volcano, S:TE).

Secondly, Vertigo was not nearly as complex ot expensive as X. I'm sure Cedar Fair would have put just as much time an effort into the ride as Six Flags is(Perilous Plunge anyone)?

In short, the ride isn't going anywhere and will be up and running soon. And even if it doesn't, the park has 14 other coasters, some of which people still travel long distances to ride. SFMM was earning 3 mill-plus a year long before X was a factor.

Likewise, Codergirl, my post was not directed at you or anyone particular either, I was just piggybacking on OutKast's post and trying to have some fun.

Precisely, OutKast.

I was also invited back, but they don't realize how impossible it is to turn around and head right back out there! Sure I had a great trip anyways, but I will go back before my Disney pass expires. :) Hmmmm.....I can always ditch the group when I get to Vegas in Oct....
