Some positive SFA News

Today I went and got my new SFA pass. While there, I asked the man if there are any new attractions. He said no, and that the budget would be instead put towards cosmetics, extra trash cans, and more flower beds. It will be interesting to see what they actually do come opening day. Sadly, parking will still be $9, unless you get a parking pass.

Not even a new bathroom by Superman and Batwing?

Actually, I both expected and am happy for general park improvements.

SF has showered us in new coasters for the past several years, so we really have nothing to complain about.

Well that is at least some good news, there's always next year to look forward to in the way of new rides. However there's a bit of bad news it appears that sky escaper will remain closed this year and may possibly be removed in 2003,my guess is that the ferris wheel will go in it's place. When I first heard about it I was thinking please remove any flat ride but that one,I guess that explains why it never operated last season.By the way any word on weather or not the new trains have been added to Jokers Jinx yet?
I was actually too scared to ask about the S:ROS/Batwing bathroom. I hope I'm surprised opening day. And yes, apparently, the Joker's Jinx trains are awaiting installation on the track.

Good, from the pictures this park looks kinda toe up. Well, some parts

What's love...it should be about us, it should be about trust!

Does anyone have any pics of the sky escaper?

Cedar Point gets "twisted for 2002"
Great Escape gets "screwed for 2002"

I've got an old Adventure world post card which shows an over view of that section of the park.Too bad I don't have a scanner though. If you've ever been to SFA then you might recall that Skyescaper is or was right in front of iron eagle.

What is the sky escaper exactly?
It's an enterprise ride made by huss rides. It's sort of like a ferris wheel but instead of being permanently vertical it starts out flat.If you've ever played RCT- Loopy landscapes then I'm sure you'll know the ride I'm referring to.
Sky Escaper was their enterprise, when I rode it back in 2000 it almost made me sick.. no not the ride itself but the lingering smell of garbage in the air... nasty. :( Hopefully something a tad more exciting (and less smelly) will take it's place.
Batwing Fan, you're right that Sky Escaper is an "Enterprise"-type inverting wheel ride, but it is most definitely not made by Huss. It's a knock-off by another company that I believe is extinct, and that's why I believe they can't fix it. It would be nice to see something else take its place, like a Zamperla Power Surge, but it would be sad in a way to see one of the original Wild World rides go to the junkyard.

WTed: Do you *really* want a pic of Sky E? Check this out ( http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?pan=s&mapdata=5%2b8Zmnm7bJxo5ebhe0zp9XOq0IXhcnMvvtplAp0Gab35y%2bl4ndYLKtblTK6a6uy1uTt5fgqEOSFid%2fWGGflONGgrFRV3Mo0xvrFPYV1XTPd01Gh4MOg%2fXi8RgtRNtEbTZLLldgb0gTC5ptpNuKV6IpGIfbGcbFzFoLIdX7ye98mURsesp0A0ONO%2fSF%2fDFA%2bYNmxXAMKANngwrAay0uoLTj1Hy4QD2KIuhNs5m4q8l0siNkNz3fjfVc6CDFNtmteuL%2bgn91PFCKZZhxL7HuoHN7CYvoYTfKXVhNbknt104AY%3d ). There is a round structure with a blue/purple and with pinwheel pattern. From there trace directly left until you encounter another round structure with a red square in front of it. *THAT* is the Sky Escaper. The red building is the queue covering.

Besides, if we were really shutting down people we disagreed with, would Jeremy (2Hostyl) still be around? :) I think not. - Jeff 1/24/02

I don't think they'll add anything along the lines of a zamperla power surge in that spot,my money's on the ferris wheel going in there.I wouldn't mind seeing them keep the original sky escaper que complete with the name on it and simply call the ferris wheel sky escaper.Still it would be nice to see two zamperla rides right next to each other, personally I'd rather see a top spin added in it's place.
