Some good and bad news of SFMM.

First the good news, new photos of SFMM

Bad news, the test rides of the Deja Vu failed. The cable of the second tower break.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! WHYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!! It just keeps getting better and better for Six Flags Magic Mountain's Deja Vu huh. Damn Vekoma. Never trusting them again.

Do I smell a lawsuit?

Yay! Another lawsuit against a Six FLags park for wrongul advertising(sp?):) X better open before the 22 next month.

This coaster is also a nightmare for Vekoma, there are plans to replace the cable by a LIM installation, so that the pullcars will be pulled by a LIM-installation, just in the orginal plan of the Invertigo. Vekoma has 2 nightmare coastertypes:

Flying Dutchman, many breakdowns
Super Boomerang

The other coastertypes are good.

SFMMFreak, yea false advertising too, but I was thinking against Vekoma by Six Flags for a bum ride.

Sounds bad for SFMM... I am just glad I didnt reschedule my trip to go in July instead of May.. because X STILL isn't open! (and dejavu)...

Also, ZeroG, if I am correct, isnt it true that Vekoma still "owns" the ride? (ie: they didnt hand it over to SFMM yet).. so why would there be a lawsuit? (unless its based on certain time constraints, or some contract)

We don't know for sure that the cable broke. Maybe the cable wasn't strong/thick enough to endure the train 365 days a year. Also, if the cable broke, don't you think there would be some damage on the tower and the train. I don't think we should be jumping to conclusions quite yet. Why don't we wait until Karl puts captions on his photo's.

SFMM isn't open 365 days a year.

It's official: Deja Vu will NEVER open!

You know what I think would be extremely funny? If neither X nor Deja Vu opened before Cedar Point's 2002 coaster does... :)

And this just struck me... have any of the Deja Vus opened yet? What parks were scheduled to get them? SFMM, SFGAm, and SFoG?

Hah - I don't think the Deja's will ever open. Maybe Vekoma should have done some stress tests.

Umm... the only pic of Deja Vu. In the right middle, there is the broken cable being lowered by a crane.

Whoa there...I never said anything about a broken cable. The workers were just removing the cable spool (if that's what it's called) along with the motor for the second lift. The cables were hanging freely, detached from this piece. Obviously there's a problem if they have to do this, but until Friday as far as I know, the ride was testing ok.
