SoCal buzzes with activity as Disney begins Tower of Terror

Disney's California Adventure has begun prep work for both Tower of Terror in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot and also the Bugs Town addition to the Bountiful Valley Farm.

Knott's Berry Farm continues to receive track for their unannounced coaster. The annual Christmas Crafts fair has also begun at the Farm. Universal Studios Hollywood is also covered in this update at Westcoaster.net.

if this new ride at knotts is a drag racing ride wouldn't there have to be two coasters involved. Much like windjammer.

I think Southern California is the place to be next year. Knott's 2002 Intamin. DCA's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. SFMM's X opens in time for the 2002 season on 12/19/01. Wow.

Arrow Freak: its not drag race themed. Rather, its themed to a 1950's auto repair shop. The trains will look like souped-up 57 Chevys, complete with hood and tail fins.

Well...a racing launched would be cool. Too bad SFMM doesn't race Superman all that often (by accident once in a while I think)...

anybody know when the opening date for tower of terror might be? i can't recall if it is late 2002 or sometime in 2003.

Tower of Terror is, at last report, not going to be an exact copy of the one at WDW. Exact details are still sketchy about what the differences will be. Latest opening dates are in 2003 or 2004.

At least LATE 2003... but that's if everything goes perfectly. They are pushing for 2003, but I dunno... time will tell. 2004 is more likely at this point. *** This post was edited by James Disney on 12/6/2001. ***

Is the one at WDW the same as the Tower of Terror at Dreamworld Australia?

There is a giant drop at dreamworld too also attatched to the same tower.
