SOB's layout

Personally, I think SOB is a very attractive coaster to look at. That view as you exit the loop and speed toward the helix with that massive criss-crossing wall of wood is just amazing. There's a certain beauty to the structure. Too bad I've heard that it's such a rough ride!
Not so rough any more, it is giving amazingly powerful rides this year. I got to hit Him up for 11 rides in one day this spring and man the power of those helices just wear you out. Rough, no , powerful, oh hell yeah.

Drop, lift, big drop, helix, loop, helix, drop, turn, done.

If you get to be evil and picky, I do too! ;)

The first "helix" really isn't a traditional helix as it features two drops over 100" high. I usually refer to it as a "mega tilted double helix". After that helix, there's the midcourse brakes and a really cool curved *drop* into the loop. After the second helix set and drop, there's a bunny hop. After the last "turn", there's another kind of curved bunny hop and then a very fun high speed hop into the final brake run. Then, you turn left into the station and you're done. :)

I'm one of the few, but I like SOB better than Beast. Why? I'm a sucker for twister coasters. Anything with diving drops, and especially massively banked helices are right up my ally. Plus, the massive trims on Beast last year probably dampered my experience. Plus, I have never ridden Beast at night. But my wooden top three still go:

1) Timbers

2) SOB

3) Thundebolt
